It's the news you've all been waiting for: Nintendo have finally unveiled The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and, needless to say, it looks absolutely fantastic. I know a lot of you were excited by the rumors we posted yesterday, but we can now confirm that they were, in fact, false.

Admittedly, we don't know much about the game's story, bar the fact that the sword is an integral part of the story and that the skies play a large role (the E3 demo focused solely on gameplay), but the one thing we can say immediately is that it looks stunning. It's a style that I've been clamoring for since the game's artwork was revealed last E3, and is remarkably reminiscent of the style Link was drawn in for the Super Smash Bros Brawl boxart.

The gameplay of Skyward Sword focuses on a liberal use of Wii Motion Plus, and although the E3 gameplay demo was glitchy (to say the least), it seemed apparent to me that, as long as you don't mind getting up off the couch, then The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword looks like it will be an incredibly intuitive experience.

So, what did you guys think of the Zelda showing? Are you excited to get back into Hyrule? Let us know in the comments below.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be available next year on Nintendo Wii. Keep checking Game Rant for more news and hands-on impressions as we get them!
