Techland's Dying Light has crossed over with franchises such as Left 4 Dead and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare so far, but its upcoming DLC is bringing yet another franchise to the title.

Dying Light's crossover event with Rust has already begun with Rust-themed weapons and skins available in the post-apocalyptic game today. This crossover will run until April 26th and it gives players the opportunity to express their enthusiasm for Rust while playing Dying Light.

Gamers can complete Research Bounties in the massive open world of Dying Light by collecting scrap and other resources to earn Gold Blueprint upgrades to unlock a weapon set that includes Salvaged Cleaver and the Rust Assault Rifle. Dying Light players who log in during the Rust crossover event will receive a free Rust Bundle that includes skins for the buggy, a new themed character skin, and three new weapons.

Some of the hordes of zombies in Dying Light are now spawning as Rust-inspired Outpost Scientist clad in green hazmat suits during the crossover event which will likely continue until the conclusion of the event on April 26th. Some of the zombies will be wearing buckets on their heads in reference to Rust, and fights with bandits have been made more difficult.

In addition to the new horde changes, two new Rais' bandit outposts have been added to the game with this Rust crossover which brings even more chaos to an already chaotic game. Raiding these outposts for bounties will be essential for Dying Light fans trying to unlock all of the Rust content before the event ends on Monday. Raiding Bounties reward the Gold Fire, Gold Freezing, and Gold Poison C4 dockets, while there are global blueprint rewards that will change the C4 color to orange (gashing), red (flammable), green (noxious), and blue (gelid).

Considering research bounties can be completed for free and they offer some of Dying Light's best cosmetics, PC fans who enjoy Techland's action survival game have the opportunity to show off their fandom of Rust this week. Currently, there's no Dying Light content in Rust, but this crossover event may lay the foundations for Techland-themed items in the open-world survival game.

The event is currently only live for PC players and it's unclear as of now if the Rust crossover with Dying Light will come to Xbox One or PS4. Techland hasn't confirmed the next official crossover for Dying Light or a release date for Dying Light 2, but it's likely that Dying Light will continue to receive crossover events.

Dying Light is available right now for Mac, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
