Since Dying Light: Definitive Edition comes with the 26 DLC packs of the original game, there are plenty of blueprints for players to find and use. Due to the high amount, players might wonder which ones are the best, and ones that are worth investing in.

Discovering blueprints, and having the necessary materials can be hard, but they are well worth the aggravation to obtain, due to the fact that they exhibit great power, with some, even featuring unique effects not seen anywhere else. Dying Light's best blueprints can often provide a grand advantage over the overwhelming hordes, and here's a bundle of ones to look out for when navigating and parkouring through Harran.

14 Stasis Field Projector

A Throwable Item That Suspends Targets In The Air, Before Pulling Them To The Ground

• Location: Old Town, poke the pink Teddy inside the kindergarten
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Freeze Targets

A rather strange blueprint, but a powerful one, the Stasis Field Projector is unlocked through an easter egg, in which players must be on the "Rupert the Gunsmith" side quest. Traveling to the northeast side of Old Town, players can enter a school to repeatedly poke a pink teddy bear, and when it explodes, the blueprints will be theirs. The blueprint itself is able to freeze zombies in place, such as Demolishers, Goons, Volatiles, and Toads. It's also strong enough to kill bombers and infected children, and works perfectly for Biters, Virals, and Night Walkers, allowing players to keep them suspended in the air for vulnerable targets or a quick escape.

13 Bolter Poison

Apply Strong Toxic Effects To Melee Weapons

• Location: give Bolter Tissue samples to Dr. Zere in "The Siblings" Main Story Quest
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Toxic (Strong)

Compliment the power of a weapon with Bolter Poison, a modification obtained through a blueprint, which will add a strong version of the Toxic status to any given melee weapon. This effect can be deadly in the right hands and will make sure to keep undead hordes at bay with every swing, allowing players more breathing room thanks to the quick and powerful effects of toxicity. Yet, there are alternative weapons and effects that can see superior results.

12 Stamina Booster

Gives Players Unlimited Stamina For 45 Seconds

• Location: Unlock The Boosters Survival Skill
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Receive unlimited stamina for 45 Seconds

There's nothing worse than being in an intense fight against the hordes of enemies that can attack players in Harran, only to become exhausted and run out of stamina, meaning no melee weapon swinging until recovery. Thanks to the Stamina Booster, players can negate this loss, and experience unlimited stamina for both running and melee attacks, ensuring their movement and combat abilities are at the top of their game. It's affordable, effective, and always worth carrying.

11 Speed Booster

Provides Players With A Temporary Speed Boost

• Location: Unlocked through the Boosters Survival Skill
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Sprint faster for 45 seconds

Speed is the key to survival when trying to avoid hostile soldiers and hungry undead, and the Speed Booster is the perfect concoction for that. Through the right Survival skills, players can unlock the Speed Booster and even the Booster XL skill to add additional time to their speed boost.

However, it's worth noting that the materials can be rather rare and expensive, and once players enjoy the intense speeds of this drug, they won't want to go back to normal sprint speeds, especially when they can easily outrun enemies and complete parkour encounters with ease.

10 Poison Blast

Applies Medium Bleeding & Toxic Effects On Axes, Pickaxes, & Sledgehammers

• Location: Old Town, within an abandoned truck
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Toxic (Medium), Bleeding (Medium)

The Poison Blast modification is a blueprint that can be applied to axes, pickaxes, and sledgehammers. The application of Poison Blast will provide the player with a deadly weapon that has medium effects of both toxic and bleeding, specific to a two-handed weapon.

This blueprint can be found in Old Town. It is located by a white truck that isn’t carrying anything and has a side compartment with the modification inside.

9 Tesla Shield

Block Enemy Attacks & Electrocute Those Who Try

• Location: Unlock Shield Crafting Skill
• Rarity: Grey
• Effects: Blocks incoming damage

Despite having a grey rarity, the Tesla Shield is certainly more useful than it may seem. After unlocking the Shield Crafting Skill, players will be able to stop the hordes from trying to take chunks of flesh from their skin. Not only can it block attacks, but its special effect electrocutes enemies when activated, allowing players to take a quick breather and regain space against their enemies.

8 Burning Throwing Stars

A Throwable Weapon With A Sharp Burn

• Location: Purchase Elemental Throwing Stars skill
• Rarity: Green
• Effects: Burns hit enemies

What makes Burning Throwing Stars so effective, is how cheap they are to craft, and the large quantity players receive upon crafting. These stars travel at a fast speed and are great at making short work of enemies, alive or dead. Not to mention, they burn any enemy that it hits. It's a great thing to love about Dying Light.

The special effect of the Burning Throwing Stars makes it well worth the journey to get it. Players must unlock the Elemental Throwing Stars skill, and then they will be able to set anyone ablaze with one throw.

7 Volatile Hunter Baton

A Melee Weapon To Electrify & Burn

• Location: Volatile Hunter DLC
• Rarity: Green
• Effects: Electricity (Medium), Burning (Medium)

What makes the Volatile Hunter Baton such a great blueprint is its accessibility. With Dying Light: Definitive Edition, the Volatile Hunter Baton will be available right at the beginning, thanks to it being part of a DLC pack. It applies medium electricity and burning effects to the following items: picks, hatchets, crowbars, wrenches, bats, police batons, hammers, and military shovels.

This blueprint can be a great starting modification for new players. It can be used on a multitude of many different weapon types, and also doesn’t require a lot of tools to craft.

6 Leaping Tiger Dao

A Sharp Weapon Which Receives Extended Damage Bonuses For Consecutive Hit

• Location: Shu Warrior Bundle DLC
• Rarity: Blue
• Effects: Damage booster with consecutive hits

As part of the Shu Warrior Bundle DLC, the Leaping Tiger Dao blueprint will be available at the start of the game for Dying Light: Definitive Edition players. This modification doesn’t add any elemental effects, but this comes as a great alternative. The Leaping Tiger Dao gives players a damage boost after successful consecutive hits.

5 Medkits

Restore 100 Health With Ease

• Location: Obtained during the tutorial
• Prerequisite: Complete Pact With Rais
• Effects: Restore 100 health

Although weaponry is an absolute necessity for survival in Dying Light’s harsh world of monsters consisting of both humans and infected, being able to fight the hordes would be useless if the player is dead. This is why the medkit craftable utility is a useful blueprint.

Players can also take the Skill “Crafting Expertise” to craft 2 medkits at once instead of just 1. By continuing to craft medkits, players will ensure their survival.

4 All-In-One

Multiple Elemental Effects On A Single Weapon

• Location: Old Town, on top of a stone tower before the Northwestern area
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Toxic (Medium), Electricity (Medium)

This weapon blueprint is titled correctly since it is literally an “All-in-one”. The weapon modification combines edged weapons with medium toxic and electricity effects. It can be applied to blades, handsaws, khopeshes, long swords, short swords, machetes, and scythes. Players who decide to "Be the Zombie" should fear this one.

There will be a stone tower located in Old Town, found just before the stone bridge in the North-western area. The blueprint can be found inside the tower.

3 Toxic Reaper

Toxic & Bleeding Effects For Sharp Weapons

• Location: Old Town, accessed through a yellow van
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Toxic (Medium), Bleeding (Medium)

This blueprint is useful on blades, handsaws, khopeshes, long swords, short swords, machetes, scythes, and sickles. The abundance of weaponry to which Toxic Reaper can be applied is one of the reasons that it is so useful. The modification also applies toxic and bleeding effects, at a medium rate.

When players reach Old Town, they can find a tunnel that is noted for having a parachute next to it and being next to a police van. From this tunnel, players will find a yellow van that has the blueprint inside.

2 Angel Sword

A Powerful Electricity & Burning Sword

• Location: Old Town, complete "Troll" quest
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Electricity (Medium), Burning (Medium)

“This’ll put the fear of God in anything it hits!” reads the in-game description for the Angel Sword blueprint. Applying medium electricity and burning effect on blades, handsaws, khopeshes, long swords, short swords, machetes, and scythes, this weapon is truly one to fear for its versatility and power.

This blueprint is received as a reward after completing the last quest in Rupert’s questline, Troll. To begin this quest, players need to head to Harran University, the same location as the Quartermaster. Demolishers won't be such a challenge now.

1 God Hammer

Applies Electricity & Burning To Blunt Weapons

• Location: Old Town, within the cannibal's workshop during "Chasing Past" quest
• Rarity: Orange
• Effects: Electricity (Medium), Burning (Medium)

The item description for the God Hammer speaks of having “lightning, like Zeus… and fire, like Hephaestus…” Truly making this modification one of godly accomplishments. It is as powerful as any mod. To create this blueprint, players will need to apply it to an axe, hammer, hatchet, pickaxe, or sledgehammer. It bolsters medium electricity and burning effects.

Players can find the God Hammer blueprint during the Chasing Past quest, in which they will find themselves in Old Town inside a cannibal’s workshop.
