Following its release back in January, Techland has been hard at work keeping Dying Light 2 updated with both new content as well as fixes to improve the overall experience. While Dying Light 2 launched to mostly positive reviews, many players were disappointed at the high volume of bugs and glitches at launch. Techland has already issued numerous patches to resolve many of these issues, including a more recent update that fixed the game-breaking 'Deathloop' bug inside Dying Light 2.

In addition to quality of life updates, Techland has also begun fulfilling its promise of at least 5 years of content. While the developer has already started releasing free updates including unique armor and weapons as well as a Nightmare mode, the studio has revealed bigger plans for its eventual DLC content. Already, Techland has hinted at 'really crazy' ideas for potential DLC expansions for Dying Light 2 and that it may even surprise players. In the meantime, the developer has revealed new features for the next massive patch, including a highly requested mode.

Taking to the official Dying Light 2 Twitter account, Techland revealed that the upcoming Patch 3 will be the biggest one released yet. While not much detail was provided, Techland did confirm that Patch 3 will have plenty of bug fixes for the single and multiplayer modes. Not much else was revealed unfortunately, though Techland is hoping to have Patch 3 available on all platforms by the end of April. As expected, full patch notes will be provided once the update is live.

However, for many players, the biggest piece to this Tweet was the confirmation of a New Game+ mode, which is something that fans have had high on their wish lists since launch. The news shouldn't be too surprising considering that Techland has continued to talk about the possibility of a New Game+ mode for a few months now. However, there's no word yet on when a Photo Mode will be making it into the game.

Players, eager for any news on upcoming content, have begun to mine through the files of Dying Light 2 on PC. Unsurprisingly, fans have managed to uncover data referring to what appears to be locations and things called Outpost, Blood Diamonds, and Archers. While the datamined Dying Light 2 DLC information appears to be fairly detailed, it remains unofficial, so players should take it with a grain of salt for now.

Dying Light 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. A Switch version is in development.
