Techland can't share specific details at this time but the Twitter account teases that the development team is listening closely to the PS5 player base of Dying Light 2. Although not directly confirmed by Techland, it appears PS5 players can expect major upgrades for Dying Light 2 soon.

Currently, the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions of Dying Light 2 include multiple performance settings: Performance, Balanced, and Quality. The Performance mode prioritizes 60fps with minimal input lag at a display resolution of 1080p. Balanced mode aims for a higher resolution at 1440p while targeting 60fps. The third mode, Quality, lowers the frame rate down to 30fps for a true 4K experience.

A 4K 60fps update for Dying Light 2 could provide the benefits of quality and performance modes in one major upgrade. If the update could be applied to the PS5 version, Techland would likely release similar upgrades for the Xbox Series X/S versions of Dying Light 2 to maintain parity on the latest hardware. The upgrade would boost excitement for Dying Light 2 as players await the release of story DLC as well.

Techland's five-year plan is only in its first year, and the developers already released many new updates for Dying Light 2. The development team should continue to build a strong relationship with its player base to encourage steady growth and sales of Dying Light 2 for the years to come.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch version releases later this year.
