Dying Light 2 has a lot to offer its players, both mechanically and just from a pure content perspective. There are a lot of things Aiden can do while Parkour'ing or while in Combat, and many of them have more depth than their description would make it seem.

As players go from the beginner stage to the seasoned stage, they'll start experimenting with how they can use these tricks in new ways. So, let's take a look at some of the more amazing things Aiden can do in Dying Light 2: Stay Human, that players may not even know about.

9 Use Active Landing More Reliably

First and foremost, falling in Dying Light 2 can be fatal — it's easy to go down from a single missed jump. Whether this is from not paying enough attention to Aiden's Stamina Bar or simply gauging distance incorrectly, both have the same result.

Luckily, there are a couple of Parkour Skills that players can invest in to help avoid this. The most important is Active Landing ,which has Aiden perform a roll on impact to safely nullify the damage. But, it can be a little finicky, and the window for pressing crouch midair can be hard to gauge. Luckily, it turns out players don't need to be frame-perfect. Instead, if they just press and hold the crouch button once the ground starts to get close, the Skill will still go off.

8 Use Air Kick To Kill Momentum

Sometimes a jump is still too high for Active Landing to work, and in those situations, it turns out the Air Kick Skill is a fantastic substitute. But, how exactly does still stop Aiden from dying of fall damage? Try it once in-game, and it becomes immediately clear. Once Aiden transitions from the "falling" animation to the start of the "jump kick" animation, he pauses for an instant midair and all of his inertia seems to get canceled.

Then, once the kick is over, he'll land safely on the group without an ounce of damage. It's a great way to get down from high buildings quickly without having to jump on a mattress or a car hood, and watch that same animation over and over again.

7 An Easier Way To Vault Kick

Dying Light 2 - Aiden Caught Mid-Vault

Another mechanic not explained by the game (maybe it's unintended) is the Vault Kick that doesn't require Aiden parrying and then launching off an opponent. Anything that Aiden has to slightly "mantle" over will work for this trick, such as a railing or a traffic cone. Once Aiden starts the slight animation of clamoring over the object, just spam press/click the Attack input, and he should snap right into a Vault Kick animation.

This isn't the most useful trick once players unlock the Dropkick or Air Kick, but it's a huge help in the early-game fights where the weapons are a bit lacking. It also makes Aiden feel like he's using the environment to his advantage.

6 Aim For The Legs

Dying Light 2 - An Infected On The Ground With His Own Leg Standing Up

Anyone who played the first game should know that the Dying Light games allow players to be strategic in where they attack their opponents. Sure, DL2's combat doesn't quite have the same weight to the limb dismemberment, but the system is still there. And by far the best part to aim for on any Infected is the legs.

Once an Infected loses their legs, they can no longer stand (obviously). From there, it's just a matter of hitting them or even Head Stomping them while they're down.

5 Break Almost Any Parkour Puzzle With The Right Skills

One of the most enjoyable things in any game with a heavy focus on movement and platforming is solving puzzles in unintended ways. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a perfect example of this, as there is nothing more rewarding than solving one of the Shrines with a shield flip or by abusing the physics system instead of the intended method.

Dying Light 2 features a bit of this too. There is an obvious way to approach each and every platform puzzle, but players can just as easily solve the problem in a myriad of other ways. For example, a lot of the Electrical Substations around the map have a bit of platforming that Aiden has to do in order to hook up the wiring. But, more often than not, players can ignore the intended way of getting from Point A to B in these areas and just Far Leap or Double Jump (another incredibly useful Skill) off the railings to exactly where they need to go.

4 Ascend Windmills Without Even Climbing Them

Speaking of unintended ways of progressing, let's talk about the Windmills, the safe zone spawning locations around the map. A lot of these Windmills aren't actually climbable until Aiden reaches a certain Stamina level…or are they?

Once players get the Paraglider from Lawan, every single Windmill in the game is now a breeze, especially if they get the speed boost upgrade for it. Just hop off of any building near a Windmill that's around the same height, and Paraglide over to the electrical box at the top.

3 Use UZ Light Bars To Recover Immunity Anywhere

There is actually a shocking number of different Consumables and Thrown Weapons in Dying Light 2: Stay Human. Tthere are Throwing Knives and Health Packs, but there are also Molotovs, Landmines, and even portable UV Bars. The UV Bars, in particular, are actually very helpful, especially for those who like exploring Dark Hollows during the day.

One additional purpose of these lights is that they also refresh Aiden's Immunity while he stands near them. This can be a huge help in some of the game's darker areas without any safe zones nearby.

2 Block Charge To Safety

Dying Light 2 Stay Human - Charge Tackling An Infected Off A Roof

After extensive testing, fans have quickly found out that the Block Charge skill is useful for more than just accidentally glitching enemies into the wall. As it turns out, one of the earlier E3 trailers for the game actually spoiled this little trick. Basically, it involves using the Block Charge to tackle an enemy off of any great height.

One might think that falling fifty or so feet with only a decomposing corpse to break the fall would still be deadly, but Aiden is totally fine after doing this. Even after tackling an Infected off one of the tallest buildings near the VNC center, the body seems to work as cushion. To be fair, leveling up the Survivor faction and not the Peacekeeper faction does cause them to put "Fall Bags" all over their territory, which do the same thing, so it is established elsewhere in the game.

1 Blow Zombies Away With A Finger Gun

Dying Light 2 - Using The Left Finger Of GloVa To Send An Infected Flying

Once players meet Lawan and access the second area of the city, all they need to do is upgrade the Paraglider until they unlock the speed boost function. Once both those requirements are fulfilled, this secret can be obtained. There's a secret "developer" room in one of the buildings near the VNC Tower in the Garrison section of the map. To get into this room, players have to connect a few electrical cables to different receiver boxes (the same ones as in the Electrical Substations) in descending order in the building where the Military Airdrop THB-UT0 sits.

It's a bit of a complex series of steps to get this thing, so it's all outlined here. But, once players do get it, it's one of the most fun things to use in the game. It's not an incredible weapon by any means, and it only has sixteen shots per three hundred Scrap. Still, there aren't any other guns in the game, so a finger will have to do.

Dying Light 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
