Dying Light 2: Stay Human was first revealed almost four years ago at Microsoft's 2018 E3 conference, being a sequel to Techland's original game in 2015. About 7 years later, the long wait will finally be over as this open-world zombie survivor game will be released in less than a month. Techland has been marketing for the last few months, revealing details through its various social media channels and YouTube web series, Dying 2 Know. One of these details revealed was the co-op mode for Dying Light 2.

Techland has produced six episodes of Dying 2 Know to promote the game, with the most recent one being the very last one before the game releases next month. Hosted by Jonah Scott, voice actor of protagonist Aiden Caldwell and Twitch streamer Leah Alexandra, this episode gave a spotlight on various aspects of what to expect, including a brand-new trailer of Dying Light 2. One of the big things that they discussed on this episode was how the game's co-op mode will work.

In this episode, Alexandra reveals that Dying Light 2's campaign can be beaten through co-op, where one player hosts and other players can join a session as a guest. Players who join this session will be able to keep the items and progression that have been made as well. Alexandra notes that while the session is being hosted, there will be instances of the players running into narrative paths that can affect the outcome of the narrative. She notes that all players that are involved in this session will be able to vote on which choice to make, but the host ultimately has the final say on which road will be taken.

The episode then shows some quick gameplay of Dying Light 2's co-op mode, where four players are present in the footage. It shows them taking on the various zombie enemies in the game, with certain players filling in certain roles based on the weapons they wield. This includes gameplay with one player using a close-range melee weapon while another is able to deal damage from afar.

Other aspects shown off include the multiple players traversing across Dying Light 2's open-world using zip-lines and parkour, with areas overgrown by vegetation. The clip ends on shot of the players reaching a church-like building, being a possible narrative choice and set-piece they will have to fight through. As evidenced in the comment section of the video, many fans were hyped at what was presented during the showcase, and are eagerly anticipating the release of this game.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 4, 2022.
