Dying Light 2 Stay Human came out earlier this month, and critics had an overall positive impression of the game. Most of the criticism was directed towards the main story quests and boring dialogue of Dying Light 2. The parkour system and the open world, however, were almost universally praised.

It seems like Dying Light 2 is a massive success for developer Techland, especially on Steam. Hundreds of thousands of users played Dying Light 2 on Steam within days of its launch, and its active player count blew way past the maximum number of concurrent players for the original Dying Light. Dying Light 2 was frequently seen at the top of Steam’s most wish-listed games, and it is now dominating Steam’s Top Sellers charts. Techland has just revealed more data that confirms that Dying Light 2 is indeed a big success.

The official Twitter account for the Dying Light series states that 3 million unique users played Dying Light 2 Stay Human during its opening weekend. The Tweet also mentions that Techland is thankful to all players who chose to experience the world of Dying Light 2 on launch.

Dying Light 2 came out on Friday, February 4 for consoles and PC. This means that 3 million users played the game within just 3 days of its launch. Even when accounting for game sharing, it’s safe to assume that opening weekend sales are not too far from 3 million, and this number has surely gone up since then. Techland will probably not release the exact split for each platform, but it’ll be interesting to see how many users decided to purchase Dying Light 2 on last-gen consoles.

Some fans have responded to this Tweet by expressing their issues with the game. Many players reported problems when trying to play Dying Light 2 in co-op, and Techland is also looking to rectify motion sickness experienced by some users. Techland has released a big list of fixes for Dying Light 2, but it may take the developer some time to implement all the changes. Hopefully, Techland can resolve these issues as soon as possible.

Those interested in purchasing Dying Light 2 should note that it comes with 3 different graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Players can choose between Resolution, Performance, and Quality modes; however, Xbox Series S only comes with 1 mode with 30 fps gameplay at 1080p.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
