Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson has again touched on the topic of Superman fighting against his character in the DCEU. Fans recently got their first sneak peek at the Black Adam costume and they have been very happy to finally be able to see it.

The anti-hero was given a brief glimpse during the DC Fandome event that showed him killing off mercenaries. The character is expected to cause a lot of damage when he makes his debut in the upcoming DC movie and will potentially be a big game-changer in the DC universe.

Johnson has often talked about how the hierarchy of power is set to change when his character is finally introduced. Black Adam is able to fly, move at superhuman speed, summon magical lightning and of course, he has super strength. This makes him a very worthy adversary to Superman as his other weakness besides kryptonite is magic.

The Rock has been anticipating his battle with the Man of Steel for a very long time. Speaking about the upcoming movie with Total Film, he said, "You get one shot out of the gates to build these characters properly...We paid attention to some of the pitfalls that other films had experienced in the past, in the world of DC, and what, rightfully, got a lot of fans unhappy and pissed – and, as a fan, I was one of them. So, let’s make sure we respect tradition and mythology, but let’s not be handcuffed creatively." It's clear that the actor is really invested in the world of DC as both a fan and of course a creative in it which is a good sign for the future of this comic book movie franchise.

When asked about the fight between him and Superman, the star went on to say, "We can do anything if we keep the audience first. So to me, there’s a battle that’s going to go down one day, between Black Adam and Superman...I don’t know who that Superman is going to be, and I don’t know who’s going to play him," the actor confessed, as right now there's slight uncertainty around Henry Cavill playing the Kryptonian. "That’s OK. I don’t need to know right now. But I’m confident in knowing that. And that’s based out of what fans want. We worked backwards from there."

Seeing as these two characters are some of the strongest in the current DC Universe it would be incredibly cool to see the two fight. Even if they throw Shazam or Wonder Woman in the mix, the clash would be something visually incredible. Fans have seen these fights during animated movies/cartoons as well as comic books so for fans it would be a treat to see it on the big screen.

Black Adam is coming to theaters on July 29, 2022
