Interior/Night makes its developing debut with the announcement of a new interactive narrative game coming exclusively to Xbox Series X. As Dusk Falls is an experimental story-telling game that follows two families over the span of three decades.

The game was created using actors filmed and painted over digitally frame by frame. As Dusk Falls produces a whole new art-style by blending 2D and 3D environments to capture a graphic novel feeling throughout the story. As Dusk Falls will tell the story of two families intertwined by the tragic events of a robbery gone wrong and the consequences of every action following. As Dusk Falls draws inspiration from games like What Remains of Edith Finch and Oxenfree, which have deep narrative qualities that highlight the gameplay.

As Dusk Falls is an non-conventional take on narrative games from the mind of CEO and creative director of Interior/Night, Caroline Marchal. As a former lead designer at Quantic Dream, Marchal has worked on games such as Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. With so much experience with deep narrative-driven games, Marchal is delivering a ground-breaking way to tell a story within a video game. Apart from the impressive art-style, As Dusk Falls will use the slight facial expressions and body language from actors to truly capture human emotions.

The trailer also highlights the dramatic story and induces an emotional connection to the characters. Like many story-driven games, As Dusk Falls will explore human nature and the effect decisions have on each character.

The trailer tells the story of an innocent family stopping at a rural hotel where they are held at gunpoint by another family who is staging a robbery. Throughout the trailer, characters are faced with morality and by the end of the trailer, two characters encounter each other after many years.

Each decision will have a huge impact on the story and based on the 30 year timeline the story fits within, the choices will have long-term effects. As Dusk Falls also takes inspiration from the complex narrative of TV dramas. The story will switch points of view throughout to tell a full story from all angles. Throughout the story, As Dusk Falls will look to cause players to evaluate their own morality with decisions and find out more about themselves as they play.

As Dusk Falls is in development for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
