According to Deadline, Latcham will work on Dungeons and Dragons as a Producer, a role he's quite familiar with. Hasbro has also signed on the duo of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to write the film's script. The two worked with Latcham on Spider-Man: Homecoming as the film's screenwriters.

EOne's president of film, Nick Mayor, stated that Hasbro brought Latcham on because of his proven track record of creating "true-to-brand films," and that the company is "thrilled to begin this new partnership." Latcham echoed this enthusiasm, stating, "I am beyond excited to help John and Jonathan, eOne, Paramount, and Wizards of the Coast bring this rich world to filmgoing audiences."

Dungeons and Dragons will take place in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, and considering the talent brought on so far, will likely be a light-hearted action film.

Dungeons and Dragons currently has a scheduled release date of May 27, 2022.
