A Dungeons and Dragons map maker has recreated the Light World Overworld map from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in 4K. The post was shared on the r/zelda subreddit and shows the world in incredible detail.

Dungeons and Dragons is the standard in the tabletop roleplaying game world, and players have taken the rules and systems it operates with to different maps and worlds throughout the decades. A post based on The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which marked the first appearance of two parallel worlds in the series, has now surfaced.

The Light World in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the game's representation of ordinary Hyrule. In this recreation for Dungeons and Dragons, players can encounter Kakariko Village, the Great Swamp, Zora's Waterfall, and countless other locations of which fans of Link to the Past should be familiar. This gives fans of both series the opportunity to run a campaign in a The Legend of Zelda world and recreate moments from the game. U/InspiraSean86 has recreated the Light World in impressive detail with this map using Inkarnate, a free web-based cartography tool.

There are thousands of maps on that players can use to launch a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, but when it comes to jumping into this game's version of Hyrule, the options become fewer and farther between. This recreation of A Link to the Past's Light World is fairly true to the original map and is a great option for players looking to jump into that realm. For those looking for the Dark World version of this map, u/InspiraSean86 promises it will be coming out soon.

All in all, the recreation here is an impressive feat. Not only does it give Dungeons and Dragons players a chance to experience Hyrule but it also gives The Legend of Zelda fans the chance to get into Dungeons and Dragons with a familiar world. Maps such as these can ease the transition for players who may be unaccustomed to the standard of roleplaying tabletop games.

However, for those who never played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past this map doesn't hold too much more excitement than any other. Then again, the areas are still from an interesting world and there are dozens of interesting locations that can be reworked for those who care little for The Legend of Zelda. Either way, u/InspiraSean86's creation is out there for those who want it. And the Dark World is coming out soon.
