As a tabletop roleplaying game full of minis and battle maps, Dungeons and Dragons is the perfect place for gamers to flex their creative skills. One Dungeons and Dragons player did exactly that, showing off one impressive battle map.

The battle map was created by Grechy, an artsy Dungeons and Dragons DM who has made tons of custom terrain pieces. The battle map he created was of the Forge of Bel from Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus, a Dungeons and Dragons adventure path published in 2019.

In the TikTok he shared, Grechy quickly piles up all sorts of construction materials he used to create the map. Then, the video snaps away at the end to show the finished product–a perfect recreation of the Forge of Bel as depicted in the Dungeons and Dragons adventure path, from the rivers of lava to the piles of scrap. He even included the enslaved fire giants who hammer away at Bel’s command, forging infernal armaments for his hellish legions.

Bel’s Forge is located on Avernus, the first layer of Hell, in the Dungeons and Dragons universe. The volcanic fortress is mastered by the Pit Fiend for whom the forge is named. Though Bel was once the Archduke of Avernus, he has been recently ousted by the fallen angel Zariel. During the adventure path, players can have all sorts of interesting encounters with the devil within his fiery forge; they might make a deal and form an uneasy alliance with him, or they might confront and battle him and his fire giant minions, depending on their actions. Dealing with the devil is one of the many ways players can progress through Descent into Avernus.

Grechy has made all sorts of custom terrain, which can be found on his TikTok. In addition to providing tips for fellow dungeon masters, Grechy has shown off a custom battle map of a graveyard, a sewer, and city maps of Baldur’s Gate and Elturel–two other cities featured in Descent into Avernus.

Fellow Dungeons and Dragons players praised Grechy for his excellent work. His battle maps are extremely well-made and detailed and look exactly like the source material. If players did not know any better, they might assume his renditions were officially licensed by Wizards of the Coast. Grechy’s Dungeons and Dragons players are lucky to have a Dungeon Master with the talent and patience to create such incredible maps for them to use during their games.
