Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance is just a few short weeks away, but that doesn't mean developer Tuque Games and Wizards of the Coast are done building excitement for it. While the team easily could've ridden things out until launch, Dark Alliance got a brand new gameplay overview trailer today, along with a new DLC roadmap detailing new content releases in 2021.

The first DLC, releasing this summer, will be free for everyone. Called Wraiths, the new content will include a new story mission comprised of three individual levels, similar to the three-act story structure found in Dark Alliance's other campaign missions. While there aren't many details on the new mission, it will see players battle wraiths that are attempting to corrupt a forest.

Additionally, the team is hoping to add couch co-op to the PC and next-gen versions alongside the DLC 1 release. Dark Alliance's couch co-op has been a highly requested feature, and it does seem like something that the game is practically built for. The team is looking to add couch co-op features to the PS4 and Xbox One versions too, but that may take some additional time.

The second DLC coming to Dark Alliance revolves around Trolls and will arrive sometime this fall. It will also be a free update for all players, and adopt a similar structure to the other Wraith DLC. This time, however, players will face off against Trolls that have invaded Kelvin's Cairn. On top of that, the free update will add new Challenge Ratings to the game for players to complete, which can ratchet up the difficulty by a significant degree.

The third DLC will be a complete expansion, adding a new storyline and character for players to check out. Called Echoes of the Blood War, the new expansion won't be free, but it does seem like it will be a relatively healthy dose of new content for fans of the game. Dark Alliance players can also expect Echoes of the Blood War to launch this fall, closing out the new content for the year.

It doesn't seem that Tuque Games is ready to talk about new content in 2022 quite yet, so it may depend on how the DLC releases are received over the course of the first year. However, it's still a healthy chunk of new stuff for players to enjoy, and that should keep fans coming back into the future. Coupled with the trailer, it paints an exciting picture for the game.

Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance will release June 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC.
