If the simulation racing titles aren't quite doing the trick for you these days, then you may just be a lapsed fan of the Driver franchise. Ubisoft's take on patrolling the streets of a bustling city and taking on the criminal underworld is being given new life in the upcoming Driver: San Francisco, and the latest trailer for the game gives some details on the collectible items and extra content that is waiting for those who choose to pick up the Collector's Pack of the game this September.

Fans of the series have quite a lot to look forward to, with Driver: San Francisco bringing some intriguing gameplay mechanics to the age-old police action genre. At least that's what we take away from the game's latest trailer.

If you happen to be one of those fans, then Ubisoft has put together a collector's edition of the game that will be bringing extra gameplay in both multiplayer and the singleplayer portions of the game, as well as a few one-of-a-kind items to adorn your mantle.

See the features of the Driver: San Francisco Collector's Pack for yourself in the latest trailer, and keep your eyes open to catch a good amount of gameplay as well:

It's a safe bet that there are plenty of you who have already decided that you'll be picking up the newest entry in the series, so a collectible model of the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T featured so prominently in the game's marketing is a nice bonus. With a companion comic book and map marking all the game's secret items, the extra cash for the special edition certainly gets you plenty of concrete returns.

The 3 extra cars available for multiplayer are classics themselves, but in an age of bonus downloadable multiplayer outfits or weapons, it's a relief to see 4 singleplayer challenges added as well. The most promising of which is 'Mass Chase,' challenging the player to escape the entire police force of San Francisco. We don't know if these extra modes will be offered as DLC some time in the future, so pre-ordering the game ahead of its release may be the only way to ensure you get them.

The game's Facebook page has also pointed out that the 1970 Dodge Challenger used in the game and for the Collector's Pack wasn't chosen or styled randomly. The die-hard Driver fans out there may already know that the car's style is based on a custom car featured only in the first game's demo, and as a secret car in Driver 2.

So for those collectors who simply have to have everything Driver, the model car contained in this edition is doubly-special. You can place your pre-order now by heading over to the game's site. The Collector's Pack is currently listed at £64.99 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and £44.99 for the PC in the UK. North American prices are yet to be released.

What do you think of the extra content offered with the Collector's Pack? Are you ready to invest in the next Driver, or will you be waiting to pre-order a bit closer to release?

Driver: San Francisco will be released for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Mac and Wii on August 30 in North America, and worldwide on September 1.
