Driveclub Stable After Two Weeks

It seems like at least once a year there is an online-focused game that launches with a few hiccups. Last year, both Battlefield 4 and SimCity couldn't muster consistent online experiences, and this year it appears Driveclub will be that troubled title.

While some have had no problem at all jumping onto the Driveclub servers, others continue to report numerous problems. The good news, though, is that Evolution Studios says things should be improving. In fact, in a post on their Facebook page they say the majority of Driveclub players should now be able to connect and play online.

Granted, this is still some two weeks after the game launched, but at least it's something. Unfortunately, majority does not include everybody, so there will be some Driveclub players out there who still can't connect.

"We're still improving server performance to get all of you enjoying full online connectivity together, but the majority of DRIVECLUB players should now be able to connect and play online."

Evolution does say in their post that "more server updates and upgrades" were coming online over this past weekend, so it's possible that there are few connection problems left. However, if you are experiencing any problems let us know in the comments so we can include them in future posts.

With Driveclub finally reaching stability, now PS Plus subscribers are left to wonder when their free, albeit limited, version of the game will hit digital storefronts. Evolution specifically delayed the release of Driveclub: PS Plus Edition to ensure paying customers got first crack at the servers, and unfortunately even then the infrastructure couldn't hold.

Now that it can, though, we'd presume the PS Plus Edition should be on the way. Whether it will bring new server struggles, however, is unclear.

For a game that was supposed to be a PS4 launch title, Driveclub's story has been interesting to say the least. There's no question that sim driving fans have been dying for a PS exclusive title to call their own, but Evolution needed extra time to polish the social features. Unfortunately, even that extra time apparently wasn't enough.

Have you had any more problems with Driveclub since launch? PS Plus subscribers, do you feel cheated by missing out on the game?
