Media Molecule made a name for itself with the critically-acclaimed LittleBigPlanet games on the PS3, but the studio hasn't released anything completely new since 2013's Tearaway on the PlayStation Vita. Its next game, the ambitious creation game Dreams, released in early access earlier this year, and many have expected it to have its full release soon. However, a UK retailer may have leaked the Dreams release date, and it's a bit farther off than expected.

In a since-deleted tweet by UK retailer Shopto, the PS4 exclusive game Dreams will launch on February 14, 2020. The first half of 2020 is shaping up to be super busy for the video game industry, though it makes sense that publishers want to get their games out before the launch of the next-generation consoles. Plus, with The Last of Us 2 delayed to May 29Dreams can ensure that Sony has a big PS4 exclusive game for the winter months.

While Dreams' official launch may not be until February 14, 2020, the game is technically available right now in early access. The early access launch of Dreams lacks the story mode that will be featured in the full game, but it does give players access to the game's full suite of creative tools. This gives creators a chance to fill the game up with their fan-made creations so that those waiting to get Dreams on its official launch date will have no shortage of things to do in the game.

So far, there have been quite a few impressive creations made in Dreams. Fans have made some completely original works, but others have used Dreams' creation tools to recreate other video games. For example, a fan remade Metal Gear Solid in Dreams, and someone else remade a famous Silent Hill 2 scene in the game. Others have managed to recreate Dead Space and PT, showing just how extensive the game's creative tools really are.

Moving forward, it's quite likely that fans will push Dreams' creative tools to their limits, and create some truly spectacular things in the game, as we've seen with LittleBigPlanet. Those whose curiosity can't let them wait can check out early access if there's room available.
