Horizon Forbidden West has already soared high for Sony. The sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is so far a critical success, with reviews for Horizon Forbidden West praising Gurriella Games' commitment to building and improving on many aspects from the original game while still maintaining a fun and exciting adventure with lots to do.

Horizon Forbidden West continues to the story of Aloy, once again played by Ashly Burch, who travels to the titular Forbidden West to figure out why the machines have been rampaging across the lands. In doing so, she is thrust into a civil war amongst the local tribes and must find a way to end the conflict while solving the mystery surrounding the machines with her allies by her side.

Another popular game in Sony’s library is Dreams, a game creation tool from LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule. Dreams has proven to be a hit, with players using it to create entirely new games and other multimedia projects like feature films. Players have used Dreams more often than not to replicate fan art and fan games of other popular titles, and Horizon is the latest in that trend.

On Reddit’s r/playstation, user MartinDK3485 created a stunningly detailed portrait of Aloy as seen in Horizon Forbidden West. The piece contains several intricately crafted materials in order to bring the world of Horizon to life, not just in the familiar locations and the various machines, but also in finely detailed textures of Aloy’s model.

This is an outstanding piece of artwork that truly showcases the power that Dreams is capable of when players are able to fully realize their art. While the piece is not actually playable, unlike other fan works such as the Halo Infinite level created in Dreams, it is still an impressive achievement. And based on the tremendous feedback on the piece so far, which sits at a 97% upvote, it seems Dreams and Horizon fans are alike are also impressed by it.

Horizon fans currently have Horizon Forbidden West to keep them busy. Horizon has now become a staple franchise for Sony, with some highlighting Aloy’s impact on gaming in the same vein as Lara Croft. And with glowing praise of that regard, it’s a sure bet that the franchise’s legacy will keep growing from here.

Dreams is available now for PS4 and PS5.
