As Disney Dreamlight Valley players explore and interact with the various Disney characters that live in the valley, they will no doubt notice the blue bar in the upper-left-hand corner of their screen. As they engage in activities in the game, they will notice it going up or down. This bar represents players' Energy. During the tutorial mission, Disney Dreamlight Valley implies that the bar is just for using magic to get rid of Night Thorns.

However, Energy is used for way more than just getting rid of weeds spawned by dark magic. This guide will explain every way that Energy gets used and how players can get more.

What is Energy Used for

When it comes to the use of Energy, almost every single thing that Disney Dreamlight Valley players can do will expend it. Specific activities will drain more Energy than others, especially fishing.

Other activities that could be seen as less strenuous consume less Energy, like planting seeds and watering them with the Watering Can. Actually, harvesting does not consume any energy. As a result, the Energy bar becomes a form of resource management for players. Fortunately, there are several ways to regain Energy, and none of them take very long.

How to Restore Energy

There are three ways to regain lost Energy. The first way is for Disney Dreamlight Valley players to return to their home. The Energy bar will immediately fill up when players walk back into their house. They don't need to wait; they can just walk in and back out and resume whatever they were doing previously. With the release of Pride of the Valley, it is now possible to slowly restore Energy by simply sitting on a bench outside. At Level 40, from an empty bar to a full bar, it takes 2 minutes and 20 seconds to fully regain all Energy.

The other option is to eat food. Players should be aware that while ingredients, fruits, and vegetables can be eaten to restore Energy, they will not restore anywhere near as much as a meal made with several ingredients. In addition, eating a meal will grant players the Well Fed buff.

Typically, the more stars a meal has, the more Energy it will restore. So if Disney Dreamlight Valley players are going to be doing an activity that consumes a lot of Energy, like removing mushroom stumps, it is a good idea to bring along some meals so that they don't have to waste time going back to their house or finding a bench to sit down on.

How to Increase Energy Bar

Fortunately, the Energy Bar can be increased. Doing so will allow players to do a lot more Energy consuming activities before running out. Disney Dreamlight Valley players can increase the Energy Bar by leveling up.

By completing quests and gaining Friendship Levels with all the Disney characters that live in the valley, players gain levels and gain increases to their Energy Bar, along with cosmetics like furniture and clothing. There is currently a level cap of 40.

So through a combination of leveling up and keeping a few meals on hand, players will always have the Energy they need in Dreamlight Valley to gather resources like Hardwood.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
