Dragon's Dogma celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with the announcement of the much-anticipated action RPG sequel, Dragon's Dogma 2. Following the announcement, many are eager to revisit Dragon's Dogma or play it for the first time.

During the Dragon's Dogma 10th anniversary event, Capcom director Hideaki Itsuno finally revealed Dragon's Dogma 2. The 10th-anniversary website launched a few weeks prior, leading to speculation and rumors about a potential sequel. The event allowed Itsuno to announce Dragon's Dogma 2 to viewers around the world and thank fans for their continued support of the series. In the wake of the announcement, interest in Dragon's Dogma is seemingly at an all-time high.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen reached its highest concurrent peak on Steam roughly 6 years after the original release. The all-time peak was 27,368 players around the time of release and the current 24-hour peak is a total of 6,582 players. According to analyst Benji-Sales, the current 24-hour peak is the highest since February 2016. June 2022 proved to be one of the most successful months for Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on the Steam platform.

The announcement of a sequel contributed greatly to Dragon's Dogma's newfound success and surging player count. Additionally, the Steam version of Dragon's Dogma is on sale for just $4.79 until June 23, which is a tremendous -84% discount. A surge in customer reviews on Steam is attributed to the increased player count this month with many recommending Dragon's Dogma. Although Dragon's Dogma 2 could be years away from releasing, it's clear many newcomers and old players alike are excited.

Capcom did not share further details about Dragon's Dogma 2, but June presents a great opportunity to dive into Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. A decade after the original release of Dragon's Dogma, Capcom reinvigorated the community with excitement after years of patience. A lot of confidence and reassurance is placed in Capcom for future titles such as Resident Evil 4 Remake and Street Fighter 6. Meanwhile, Capcom continues to support successful titles like Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village.

Dragon's Dogma is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Dragon's Dogma 2 is currently in development.
