Square Enix will reveal new information regarding the Dragon Quest franchise at the upcoming Jump Festa event this December. For the uninitiated, Jump Festa is an annual convention and expo held in Japan in December. This event is sponsored by Shueisha, who is the publisher of various Jump manga, such as Shonen Jump, with new anime, manga, and other things being announced at this event. While it is mainly anime and manga-focused, video game companies have also participated in Jump Festa, announcing new games, trailers, and even game demos.

Square Enix has been at this event before, as it has connections to Shueisha due to the manga series Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai which was published through Weekly Shonen Jump. Square Enix has even announced games that are connected to the show, including an action RPG known as Infinity Strash - Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. With Jump Festa coming this December, Square Enix announced that it will be present at this event.

According to Jump Festa's official website, Square Enix will not only have a photography booth at the expo but will feature new information and trailers for the Dragon Quest series. This event will take place from December 17-18, although the website didn't specifically list any games that would be at the showcase. While Dragon Quest Treasures likely won't be shown, as it will launch before the event, there are a few games that are possibly going to be shown at Jump Festa.

Of the possible games to be shown, Infinity Strash - Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai is likely. It was announced back in 2020 alongside the anime adaptation, though it's speculated to be in the polishing phase and will likely see a launch next year. Another title in the franchise that fans have been keeping their eyes on is Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, which was announced back in May of last year and is touted to be darker than past games. DQ12 will also feature a brand-new combat system, along with the usage of Unreal Engine 5.

The other title that could possibly be shown at Jump Festa is the highly anticipated HD-2D Remake of Dragon Quest 3. This looks to give the genre-defining JRPG a full makeover in the same style as Octopath Traveler, which has also been given to other JRPGs like Live A Live Remake. This however is all speculation for the time being and fans should wait until December to see if these Dragon Quest games will be showcased.
