The Dragon Ball Z anime, and by extension, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, have a vicious fight between Vegito and Super Buu. In Bandai Namco's upcoming project, fans will have the chance to relive this epic battle, taking control of Vegito himself. Being the fusion of Vegeta and Goku, Vegito has a lot of interesting techniques, some are combinations of their moves, while others are brand new. Vegito's power might've amazed fans upon his debut and may do so again in the game. What of Vegito's moves and techniques will transfer over and be usable by players in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot?

For those unaware, Vegito is the result of Goku and Vegeta fusing by using the Potara Earings. The Potara Earings are usually only used by the Kais, but cause the wearers to fuse into one body, combining their power and personalities. Being the two strongest Saiyans in the universe, the fusion of Goku and Vegeta is extremely powerful and just as cocky. In the original anime, Vegito is able to toy with Super Buu even in base form, and after going Super Saiyan, the fight is simply no contest. Even though he hardly needed to, Vegito displayed some incredible new powers in this fight.

Super Saiyan

Super Saiyan 1 Vegito

During his fight with Super Buu, there is an undeniable power gap between Vegito and the villain. Even when Super Buu manages to pull a trick or land a blow, Vegito seems to come out unscathed. So, when Vegito deigns to go Super Saiyan, this power gap increases exponentially. Like Vegeta, Vegito calls this form Super Vegito rather than Super Saiyan, but it is essentially the same. It is assumed that since both Goku and Vegeta were capable of going Super Saiyan 2 upon their fusion, that Vegito could as well, but he likely did not feel the need to. As such, only Super Saiyan 1 will be available to players during their run as Vegito, but it should be more than enough.

Spirit Sword

With this move, Vegito concentrates his energy into his right hand to form a blade of yellow energy. He pierces his foe and is then able to lift and move them at will. Vegito uses this technique against Super Buu, and it has since become one of his most famous. The energy control Vegito demonstrates with the Spirit Sword is unlike anything seen thus far, and the devastating power when slicing with the blade is unbelievable as well. In the past, this move has been Vegito's ultimate attack, and it is sure to make an appearance for players in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Big Bang Flash

Vegito has been said to be more like Vegeta than Goku, and it shows in his mannerisms and techniques. The Big Bang Flash is drawn directly from Vegeta's Big Bang Attack, but instead of firing out like a ball, Vegito fires it into a powerful energy beam. Big Bang Flash is much stronger than Big Bang Attack, as it is more focused compared to the latter's explosive energy, and when Vegito uses it, it tears Super Buu to shreds, forcing him to regenerate his entire body yet again.

Banshee Blast

Vegito uses this technique in order to counter Super Buu's Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, which he stole from Gotenks. Vegito Spreads his fingers, formulating balls of concentrated energy at each of his fingertips. He then fires each of these balls towards his target, being capable of firing at multiple targets at once even. If this technique transfers into Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, it is likely that it will either target multiple enemies, dealing high damage to each, or do incredible damage to one foe. The Banshee Blast will most likely be a super move available to Super Vegito during this climactic battle.

Pinball Attack

Candy Vegito beats up Buu with pinball attack

Although this isn't really a technique, it is worth mentioning because it helps put Vegito's power into perspective. One of Buu's signature techniques is the ability to turn his foes into candy, chocolates, or cookies, allowing him to eat them while they are defenseless. Seeing he is no match for Vegito, Super Buu tricks Vegito and turns him into a small ball of chocolate. Super Vegito is so powerful, though, that he is still able to fly, talk, and even attack Super Buu in this candy form. Before doing so, he exclaims that his new move is called Pinball Attack. Given that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot claims to be the most faithful recreation of the Dragon Ball Z story yet, is it possible that players will even take control of Vegito in his candy form at some point? Only time will tell.

Saiyan Shield

Seeing an opportunity to rescue his friends, Vegito allows Super Buu to absorb him. Upon doing so, Super Buu is confused as to why he has not changed and gotten more powerful. It is then revealed that Vegito was able to form a barrier with his ki to stop himself from being digested and "turned into Buu goo." This barrier has shown up as a technique in some other games, so it is possible that players will be able to use it as a defensive ability in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot outside of in cutscenes pertaining to the battle with Super Buu.

In addition to these moves, Vegito fires many un-named Ki blasts of energy, usually golden, during his fight with Super Buu. All of these prove to be incredibly powerful, shredding Super Buu's body and forcing him to regenerate. Beyond this, Vegito is able to use any of the techniques that Goku and Vegeta can, including the Kamehameha and the Gallick Gun.

In fact, his appearances in Super and other video games have him combining some attacks, resulting in powerful moves such as the Final Kamehameha (a combination of Final Flash and Kamehameha), which may make an appearance in the upcoming game. Vegito is easily the pinnacle of power in the Dragon Ball Z anime and may live up to this reputation when he makes his appearance in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 17, 2020.
