A new leak for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot shows off Goku's full Skill Tree in extensive depth. The leak comes from a playable demo of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot not released to the public, meaning the nature of what's shown could change in the future, but the techniques and abilities showcased will more than likely make it into the full game.

The demo allowed players to experience the full battle between Goku and Vegeta during their very first fight. Before going into the fight, YouTuber CGInferno takes the time to look through the entirety of Goku's Skill Tree. They move through the menu quickly but do reveal all of Goku's manual and passive abilities.

For his manual moves, Goku will be able to access signature techniques such as Kamehameha, Kaioken, Super Saiyan (1, 2, and 3), Spirit Bomb, and Dragon Fist. He'll also get Consecutive Energy Blasts (rapid-fire ki blasts), Scissors Paper Rock, Meteor Smash, and an assortment of more nondescript physical moves such as Body Blow and Impact Strike. Passive abilities manipulate the general mechanics of the game, and Goku's revolve around increasing his damage output and controlling the Support Gauge. Killer Co-Op, for instance, forces the Support Gauge to fill faster when in its in effect, while Battle Instincts makes Goku deal more damage to opponents that outclass him.

Like manual abilities, players should expect these kinds of passives to be character-specific. Goku is a team player, so it's understandable for him to have Support Gauge manipulating abilities. Vegeta, on the other hand, doesn't care for fighting in groups and would, therefore, have passives that focus on other things. However, Goku and Vegeta are Saiyans, so something like Battle Instincts works for both of them, but a Namekian like Piccolo would likely have something that deals more with HP recovery over time.

The game organizes abilities into two categories: Rank and Level. The Rank category determines the intensity of the move in question (Kamehameha being Rank 1 and Super Kamehameha being Rank 2), and the Level determines the potency of each ability (Level 2 Super Saiyan 3 raises base damage by 125% while Level 3 Super Saiyan 3 raises it by 150%). Passive abilities follow this same system, too.

For example, Killer Co-Op is a Rank 2 ability that increases the Support Gauge fill-up speed by 5% at Level 1 and 10% at Level 2. Finally, players can only access these abilities when they have enough Z orbs to spend on them, are a high enough level, and have completed certain milestones in the story.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 17, 2020.
