If recent reveals and trailers are any indication, Dragon Ball Z fans will be in for a real treat when Bandai Namco's latest project, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, releases next month. Not only does it promise to be the most faithful telling of Goku's adventures, but everything about the game screams action RPG. From its skill tree system to the various mini-games, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot seemingly breaks the mold of other DBZ games for a more refreshing take on the franchise.
As such, and given the popularity of the DBZ franchise, many may be looking forward to pre-ordering the game or picking up one of its various editions. Pre-Order bonuses give players access to some special content, with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot also including a deluxe, collector's, and ultimate edition of the game. Of course, the base game itself just comes with the base game, so for those interested in what the various editions entail, here's every Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot pre-order bonus and special edition.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Pre-Order Bonuses
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot can be pre-ordered at most major retailers, which will lock in the gamer's copy of the game and unlock a couple of in-game bonuses. As far as these go, the bonuses are pretty uniform across the spectrum, but pre-ordering from the PlayStation Store also grants players a PS4 theme of the game. Pre-ordering a physical copy at GameStop will also reward a Goku figpin. Otherwise, players will receive the following bonuses:
A new sub-quest
Bonyu's training (early access)
A cooking item
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Deluxe Edition
Priced at $84.99, the digital-only Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Deluxe Edition comes with the aforementioned pre-order bonus content as well as a couple of new additions like the Season Pass. While the full post-launch content of the game has yet to be detailed, the Season Pass comes with two original episodes and a new story, which may take the game into the world of DBZ movies or DBZ: Super. Regardless, here's everything that comes in the deluxe edition:
Pre-order bonus content
Season Pass
A Ki-ATK,Ki-DEF, and HP stat boost cooking item
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Music Compilation Pack
Another cooking item
PC: Steam
PS4: PlayStation Store
Xbox One: Microsoft Store
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Collector's Edition
The Collector's Edition of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot comes in at $199.95 but comes complete with a number of physical bonuses. As seen above, players can expect the following:
Hardcover art book
Collectible steelbook
A unique diorama figure
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Figpin Bundle
This is not necessarily a special edition of the game, but it's one fans of figpins may want to consider when pre-ordering the game. Sold exclusively at GameStop, this bundle comes with the base game and a $50 figpin collection comprised of Great Ape Vegeta, Frieza, Kid Buu, and Perfect Cell. Furthermore, $10 is saved by pre-ordering the bundle which also locks in the aforementioned Goku figpin pre-order bonus.
Available exclusively at GameStop: PS4, Xbox One
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Ultimate Edition
Priced at $94.99, the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Ultimate Edition comes with everything found in other digital editions of the game with only one significant change: a new way to travel with the Tao Pai Pai Pillar. For those unfamiliar with it, it was a method of travel used by antagonist Mercenary Tao in the original Dragon Ball, which is at least a cool nod to what came before DBZ.

PS4: GameStop and Amazon(unavailable), PlayStation Store
Xbox One: GameStop, Amazon, Microsoft Store
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot releases for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 17, 2020.
