Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot may mainly focus on Goku's journey, but the game will feature a number of other playable characters as well. It seems that new Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot playable characters are confirmed every few months, and now two more characters can be added to the lineup. It's been confirmed by the latest issue of Weekly Jump that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will include Adult Gohan and Vegito as playable characters.
The inclusion of characters like Adult Gohan and Vegito shouldn't come as a surprise to those who have been following Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot news closely. Since Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot features the entirety of the Dragon Ball Z storyline, it stands to reason that characters like Adult Gohan and Vegito would appear. However, having them as playable characters in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot may be interesting to learn for some fans.
For the uninitiated, Adult Gohan is, as his name suggests, the adult version of Goku's son Gohan. Gohan became an adult in the anime/manga well after the Cell Games story arc, and since Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot extends all the way to the Buu Saga, it makes sense that he would be in the game. Vegito, meanwhile, is a little bit more complicated.
Those who aren't well-versed in Dragon Ball Z lore may find Vegito confusing since he's technically two different characters fused into one. During the Buu Saga, Dragon Ball Z characters started fusing together to increase their power levels so that they could effectively fight off greater threats. When Goku and Vegeta fused together, they created the super-powerful character Vegito, who is arguably the most powerful character in Dragon Ball Z.
As for other Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot playable characters that aren't Goku, we know that both young Gohan and Trunks will be playable in the Cell saga, and Piccolo and Vegeta will also be playable at certain points as well. It's quite possible that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has even more playable character it has yet to reveal, so fans should stay tuned for more information.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot launches on January 17, 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
