During the Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2019 event, publisher Bandai Namco gave fans a closer look at its forthcoming action RPG, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. This game is reportedly the most accurate retelling of the classic DBZ story to date, and it is focused around the titular hero, better known as Goku. However, Goku isn't the only confirmed Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot character, as the Namekian Piccolo, among others, has been confirmed as a playable character as well.

The exact number of playable characters is still in the air, but fans can now take a closer look at Piccolo in action by way of this new gameplay footage. While the gameplay featured in this footage is not the most in-depth, the video does give a look at Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's graphics, character conversations, and combat.

As far as the combat is concerned, Piccolo faces off with Tien and Chiaotzu. The game's combat appears to be very much like that of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, as the dash and charge, mid-air combat, and ki charges all seem to work in a fashion similar to what is seen in Xenoverse. The video also gives a look at several of Piccolo's standard attacks in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, such as the light bomb and the classic Special Beam Cannon.

Like previous games, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will also give players a grade for each battle, with the performance in the demo below being rewarded an A. There is also a cutscene, involving Piccolo and Gohan, shortly after the aforementioned fight, but that's where the demo comes to an end. Piccolo gameplay footage begins at the 16:08 mark in the video below.

As far as details about the game, there is still a ton in the air, but more information will likely be revealed in the months prior to its release. Currently, here's everything we know about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, including details on its party mechanic, leveling system, world locations, and its various sidequests. Furthermore, while the exact length of the story remains unknown, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will explore the events through the Freiza saga, at the very least.
