Bandai Namco Entertainment has been on a roll concerning Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot here lately, recently confirming that Adult Gohan and Super Vegito would be playable, as well as showcasing some of Super Saiyan 3 Goku in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot screenshots. Now, at the Thailand Games Show 2019, developer CyberConnect2 and Bandai Namco show new gameplay features for Majin Vegeta.
For the unitiated, Vegeta allows Babidi to increase his power to become Majin Vegeta and then breaks the space wizard's mind control powers from sheer will. Vegeta thinks that he has grown weaker and been forced to live with his pride cast aside, so he thinks that the only way to become stronger than Goku is to turn to pure evil. However, his last defining act as Majin Vegeta is a selfless sacrifice that shows the good buried in his heart, a moment that will indubitably appear in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
More than that, though, developers confirm that players will be taking control of Majin Vegeta and will be able to free roam as the character in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. During this, it shows how side quest selection can work, how enemies will pursue the character while exploring the world, and goes a little further with how Vegeta approaches combat. Many noticed that Majin Vegeta is an energy tank character who frequently uses Ki Blasts and point out that the is level 64 during the gameplay shown.
As players do sidequests and progress the main story, it seems that the world map will accordingly change. It's an interesting feature that's not altogether different from how leveling up works in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Players will see serious increases in speed and changes in attack cinematics as they level up, a factor that is certainly noticeable when watching the gameplay of a level 64 Vegeta.
The final section of gameplay focuses on the fight between Majin Vegeta and Majin Buu, where most of the above is showcased in full force. It gives a look not only at his basic gameplay, but his Ki abilities and a few of his special attacks as well. If this Majin Vegeta gameplay video does anything, it shows why fans of the franchise who have explored this story dozens of time before are excited for the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 17, 2020.
