Bandai Namco has released a new preview for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. This time around, the focus is on Base Vegeta, Majin Vegeta, and Majin Buu.

Base Vegeta doesn't see much screen time, only showing up at the beginning of the preview as a static image with a caption. The caption mentions the Saiyan race's Great Ape transformation, and the tweet text reads that Vegeta will use the form to "blow his opponents away" when he feels the need.

The tweet then gets into the meat of the preview and showcases the iconic ending of the fight between Majin Vegeta and Majin Buu. Here, Vegeta bids farewell to his wife, son, and greatest rival before denoting his Ki and body to trigger his Final Explosion technique, a move that works to eradicate both Vegeta and everything else it comes in contact with. It, of course, fails to do anything of consequence to Majin Buu but does serve as a physical display of how much Vegeta changed throughout DBZ.

The technique itself is a signature of Majin Vegeta's, and while players can normally use it as a special move in any game that features the character, it remains to be seen whether or not DBZ: Kakarot will do the same since Vegeta canonically can't use it more than once in Dragon Ball Z. Vegeta doesn't realize true mastery over this power until obtaining his Blue Evolution transformation in Dragon Ball Super, as it allows him to use it without killing himself. There's no indication that Super will be featured in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, though.

It's also still up in the air as to how long players will be able to use Majin Vegeta. This version of the character doesn't see much screentime in the anime and manga and this scene results in his demise. While there are side quests and other activities populating the world of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, it's unknown if brief characters like Majin Vegeta will be playable after they've departed. The possibility is strong, though, since the Dragon Balls allow players to revive defeated villains to fight them all over again. If SS3 Goku can battle Frieza before Super, there's no reason why players wouldn't be able to play with Majin Vegeta for some endgame shenanigans.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 17, 2020.
