According to the video shared on Bandai Namco's official US Twitter account, Soul Emblems are a way for players to customize their characters and increase their stats as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot puts its single player experience front and forward. This all works through the Community Boards, a slotted status screen that allows players to place Soul Emblems in order to increase the available bonuses from each different board. Soul Emblems themselves can be upgraded to offer more rewards by granting gifts that increase both Friendship and Proficiency, the two parameters that increase the emblems effectiveness.

In addition to collecting Soul Emblems from different characters in the game, like Gohan and Piccolo, there are also Community Leaders who grant all new Community Boards to customize and level up. The video shows off two Community Leaders, Goku and Chi-Chi, who grant boards that increase fighting abilities and cooking skills respectively. Along with the Community Leaders, the video also reveals Krillin, Yamcha, Master Roshi, and others as some of the Soul Emblems available in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, although there are likely dozens more too, considering the large roster of other characters from the original series of anime and manga.
