While the bulk of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is focused on retelling the events of the Dragon Ball Z anime’s key sagas, there are tons of additional elements for players to explore and interact with. Arguably, the most compelling element among those is the sub-stories, which have the player completing tasks for familiar faces.

During the game’s first Intermission – between the Vegeta Saga and the Frieza Saga – players will unlock a sub-story from the Turtle called “Tough Break for Turtle.” To complete the sub story, players will need to collect three items for the Turtle, a Royal Tomato, Rice (7), and Egg (6).

How to Get the Royal Tomato

The Rice and the Egg are fairly straightforward since players can buy them from any vendor in the game’s various regions. If Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players are short on money, there are some tips they can use to farm Zeni in the game. But it’s the Royal Tomato that will cause players the most trouble.

Getting the Royal Tomato, however, requires its own sub-task, as the farmer in the region with Goku's House will want to trade his Tomato for 10 Great Energetic Fish. Players likely have seen some Energetic Fish in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot before, but chances are they haven’t seen too many of the Great version if at all.

The key to getting Great Energetic Fish is to know where to look. Players can grab Energetic Fish from any body of water by picking up the glowing gold orbs. Each orb has a random chance of being an Energetic Fish, with the chances increased if there are birds flying overhead. Of course, Energetic Fish are not what players want, but in case they need them for a meal it’s worth noting that tip.

Where to Find Great Energetic Fish

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s only known spot for Great Energetic Fish is in the Kame House region of the map. In the top left corner is a village with a fishing spot that players will want to target. Fly there and land, but don’t worry about the fishing spot. Instead not the man nearby who is talking about the “stupid great energetic fish.” He is trying to give players a hint.

Now, look for areas of the water with birds flying overhead, dive into the water, and collect the gold orbs. If players are lucky they should get at least one Great Energetic Fish from that underwater orb run.

Keep looking for birds and eventually, you will collect 10 Energetic Fish. If you find yourself at a loss when it comes to the birds, wait about 30 seconds for them to respawn.

With 10 Great Energetic Fish in their inventory, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players can then complete the quest. Head to the farmer first and trade the fish for the Royal Tomato, then take the Royal Tomato, Egg, and Rice to the Turtle. This should complete the sub story and unlock some XP and items.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
