After a long wait, it seems that the marketing train for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has left the station. The latest V-Jump magazine confirmed the next step for Goku and Vegeta, that of course being their Super Saiyan Blue forms, while also revealing new moves the two figures would unlock. Now, new high-quality screenshots featuring Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta in action have been released.

These images are high quality shots of the images in the V-Jump. As seen below, they showcase Super Saiyan Blue Goku fighting off various Frieza Soldiers, while SSB Vegeta is firing off his Galick Gun. Not only do the forms look impressive and as expected, these screenshots also fill in some context for the upcoming DBZ: Kakarot DLC 2.

Other than the official title as A New Power Awakens Part 2 and the inclusion of SSB, nothing else has been confirmed. The official boss for this second, as well as the release date, are still up in the air. However, this Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot screenshots may be taken as confirmation for a few things. As translated prior, these are clearly Frieza's soldiers, meaning that Golden Frieza is all but officially confirmed to take place in the DLC. It would be strange to show this fight, but then it turn out to be Hit as others have speculated (unless both Hit and Frieza appear somehow, although that is incredibly unlikely).

Secondly, DLC 1 showed a ton of screenshots prior to its release, with the official release coming about a month after the initial set, and a formal announcement only taking place a week beforehand. With this information in mind, a mid-to-late September release for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC 2 seems likely. There's plenty of caveats to that in any ordinary scenario, though, and then there's COVID-19 to consider.

Nonetheless, if Bandai Namco and CyberConnect 2 are confident enough to start releasing screenshots, then perhaps all is going well and the DLC will be here soon. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, given the reception of the initial DLC was lackluster compared to the base game, but fans shouldn't expect any major changes. The big piece of the Season Pass is DBZ: Kakarot DLC 3, after all, and so hopefully, it's not as long of a wait for it as it was for DLC 2.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. DLC 2 does not have a release date yet.
