Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is overdue for a second DLC, as fans have had around two months to play around with what the first DLC had to offer. While training to unlock Super Saiyan God and take on Beerus was fun, there is a distinct lack of end game content outside of this which makes the game feel stale after reaching this point. A second DLC would help by giving fans something more to do after beating Kakarot, and it may be sooner than some think. Assuming Bandai Namco sticks with its previous release schedule, an announcement of DLC 2 may come before the end of next week.

It's worth stating that this is purely conjecture based on DLC 1 and other in-game releases. For all anyone knows, Bandai Namco could come out of left field with an announcement tomorrow or it could hold onto the information until September. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot came out in mid January this year, and despite it having been almost half a year since then, has only gotten one piece of substantial post launch support in the form of DLC 1.

DBZ: Kakarot DLC 1 Schedule

The first Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC released at the end of April on the 28th. This is a little over three months after the game came out and is the basis for this prediction. For two months after the game's release, Bandai Namco was entirely radio silent about the DLC, leaving many pondering whether the season pass was worth it or not, but about at the end of March it finally made an announcement confirming what leaks had said that the DLC would be about Beerus and Whis.

Naturally, fans wanted a release date after this, but they'd have to wait for that too. It wasn't until April 21st, exactly one week before the DLC would actually release, that Bandai Namco opened up about when it would be ready. Given that there are three planned DLCs for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, it would make sense if this same pattern was repeated throughout the rest of the year. If that is the case, then Bandai Namco would need to announce its third DLC before the end of this month (Tuesday the 30th), and then a release date for the DLC would come a week in advance of it actually dropping.

DBZ: Kakarot DLC 2 Announcement

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Beerus VS Hit

Part of why fans desperately want a DLC 2 announcement is to confirm who exactly it is they will be fighting in the second boss battle episode. Initially, many assumed that Resurrection F would take the helm for this second DLC since it follows directly after Battle of Gods, but recent rumors suggest that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot may skip Golden Frieza, opting to go straight to the Universe 6 Tournament Saga instead. This would make Hit the boss rather than Frieza, and would set up the upcoming story arc DLC well.

If the DLC 2 announcement confirms this theory and Hit is in fact the next boss, then the leak suggesting the Future Trunks Saga for Kakarot's DLC 3 becomes a lot more credible. It would make a lot of sense for CyberConnect2 to take this route since the Golden Frieza arc doesn't really add much to the story. In contrast, the Universe 6 Saga introduces the concept of the multiverse and would be vital to having the Future Trunks Saga make more sense. Once again, this is all just speculation based on rumors, leaks, and prior history, so fans shouldn't necessarily hold their breath to see an announcement.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
