New images reveal the character model and new details about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot character Bonyu. Bonyu is a new original character for the game, joining DBZ fan favorites such as Piccolo, Gohan, Frieza and more.

Images shared on Twitter by translator Ken Xyro show Bonyu engaged in a fierce battle with Goku. The game's publisher Bandai Namco had said that Bonyu is former member of Ginyu Force, and these images also confirm that Bonyu is one of the bad guys in the game.

The images of her character model show her wearing the same sort of Scouter as other soldiers in Frieza's army, and she wears Ginyu Force Battle Armor too. Bonyu's battle with Goku looks fierce, and Bandai Namco has said that she'll be in some side quests, but it's not known how large of an antagonistic role she'll play in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot outside of that.

Other images shared by the Twitter user also confirm a rumor about a Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot baseball mini-game. Xyro had said before that Gohan would be in a baseball mini-game, though it's unclear who is pitching the ball. The other image shared shows Gohan in high school and in his costume as the Great Saiyaman. Xyro's tweet didn't say how much time would be spent in these sections, but it does look like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will offer more than just a quick trip to high school.

The other part of Xyro's leak, which suggested that PuiPui and Yakon will be in the game, has yet to be confirmed. Xyro said that the two characters, who get into battle with Goku and Vegeta, would be featured in the Buu Arc section of the game. Bandai Namco has released a trailer confirming that Buu saga would be in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and that characters like Majin Buu would star, but the publisher is keeping fans waiting for a confirmation on these other two foes.

Now that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has an official release date, with just a few months to go until the game is available, Bandai Namco will hopefully begin to start sharing more about these other parts of the game. Fans have many questions for the publisher, such as the size of the Buu saga section, how important characters like Bonyu are, and more, but for now they'll have to wait to get answers.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is set to release on January 17, 2020, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
