Though Dragon Ball: The Breakers may seem like a relatively straightforward title at first glance, a few quick games will reveal that there's a lot more to the experience than first meets the eye. Players will need to find the best setups for their individual playstyles and must also decide which skills and abilities they should upgrade first. Heck, even figuring out how to win a match in Dragon Ball: The Breakers can take a bit of time.

This is because there are actually several different ways to win a match in Dragon Ball: The Breakers, some of which are not immediately obvious right out of the gate. It's therefore important for players to familiarize themselves with the win conditions for both raiders and survivors, as doing so will be essential for those hoping to level up and begin unlocking things through the game's seasonal battle pass.

Win Conditions for Survivors in Dragon Ball: The Breakers

The first and most straightforward method for achieving victory as a survivor in Dragon Ball: The Breakers is to deplete the raider's HP through combat. At a glance, this may seem like an almost impossible task, but, providing the team works together and is able to find enough Change Power, it's actually not too difficult, particularly when up against rookie raiders. In fact, finding all seven Dragon Balls and making a wish can make defeating a raider downright easy regardless of their experience and skill levels.

Another good way to find success as a survivor is to activate the startup system for the Super Time Machine. This too will usually require a bit of teamwork and determination, with players having to take turns distracting the raider while others work on activating the machine by approaching it and holding the Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) button. It's not uncommon for the raider to be killed during this stage of the match, so it's always worth keeping an eye on their HP and switching tactics if they happen to be running low.

If the raider is able to destroy the super time machine startup system before the meter reaches 100%, there's no way for the survivors to win as a team unless they're able to kill the raider. However, individual survivors can still achieve victory by escaping using the Escape Time Machine. To do so, they'll need to head to one of the blue beacons that are scattered around the map to call it in and then climb inside and take off. It's possible to grab onto the side of the Escape Time Machine as well, though players shouldn't linger for too long as it's very easy for raiders to take the machine out.

Win Conditions for Raiders in Dragon Ball: The Breakers

There are three ways for raiders to win in Dragon Ball: The Breakers, the first of which is to defeat all seven survivors. The game provides a few different methods for taking out a survivor, but they all begin with the raider downing the survivor using physical or energy beam attacks. If nobody revives the survivor before the countdown ticks down to zero (or they're unable to self-revive using a Senzu Bean), the survivor will die automatically.

Alternatively, the raider can finish survivors off while they're down by approaching them and holding the Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) button. Survivors can still be revived after their first down though even if they end up being absorbed, so raiders may have to down them a second time to truly finish them off. It's also worth noting that raiders do not need to kill every survivor to win, merely down all of the remaining survivors at the same time.

As well as taking out all seven survivors, raiders can secure a victory by destroying the startup system for the Super Time Machine before the gauge hits 100%, again, by holding the Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) button while standing close to the machine. There is a slight caveat here, in that if the raider should die after destroying the Super Time Machine they'll still be hit with a loss, so those with low health may just want to sit back and allow any remaining survivors to head for the Escape Time Machine beacons unless they too are on the brink of death.

Though the raider will still be credited with a victory even if all of the remaining survivors escape via the Escape Time Machine, they're able to rub a little extra salt into the wound by destroying the Escape Time Machine before it flies away. To achieve this, it can help to fly up high so as to be able to see where it's called in and then blast it with energy beams before it's able to take off. It's very easy to destroy due to its low health, so spotting it before it leaves is the real struggle here. Much like downing every survivor, destroying the Escape Time Machine will immediately end the match.
