Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero – Son Gohan Beast

Initially touted for release in April 2022, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was delayed to June 12, which also resulted in the delay of the eventual international release of the new film. Since the Japan release of the new Dragon Ball Super, there has been an incredible amount of excitement regarding the next installment in the franchise, particularly regarding the focus on Gohan as one of the film's main heroes.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has sold over 1 million tickets in Japan in just over two weeks at the Box Office, raking in over 1.2 billion yen in the process. There have been various trailers and visuals for the movie since its announcement; however, one recent trailer features some content that was never in any of the previous ones, including visuals of Gohan's new form, "Beast Gohan" and "Orange Piccolo", as well as the return of Cell – "Cell Max".

Unlike the other trailers for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero; which focused mostly on the return of the Red Ribbon Army via the new antagonists, this revealed more about the major events to be expected within the film, capping off the reveals with the unveiling of what original creator Akira Toriyama refers to as "Son Gohan Beast", a white-haired, red-eyed form of Gohan that is said to be a manifestation of the awakened beast within him. The trailer was meant for release only in Japan; however, it has since fallen into the hands of western fans and propagated via various channels such as YouTube and social media.
