One of the best-selling anime franchises of all time is undoubtedly Dragon Ball. The proof lies in its enormous fanbase, endless content, and countless anime episodes and movies. The 2015-2018 series Dragon Ball Super included many of the same characters everyone knows and loves, including Goku, Vegeta, and their wives and children. 26 Goku

The Legendary Protagonist

Goku is the main protagonist of the franchise. The series follows his entire life; starting from when he was a young child to becoming a grandfather. Goku has faced many evil villains and upgraded his Saiyan skills to their highest limits through each arc.

The father of Goten and Gohan and husband to Chi-Chi has lived a wild and action-packed life so far, bringing the good out of his friends and companions.

25 Vegeta

A Fellow Saiyan And Goku's Rival

Vegeta is another full-blooded Saiyan who spends most of the series trying to get stronger. He and his rival are constantly fluctuating in power, surpassing one another over and over throughout the series.

Vegeta is married to Bulma, and together they raise their son, Trunks. Vegeta is typically angry, grumpy, or irritated, making him a nice counter to Goku. He is a dependable and tough Saiyan who can take down nearly any foe challenging him and his friends.

24 Trunks

The Half-Saiyan Son Of Vegeta and Bulma

Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma, making him half Earthling and half Saiyan. He is best friends with Goten, Goku's younger son, and they are inseparable.

He is quite cocky and proud of his strength and skills and is not afraid to brag about himself. Over time, he matures and becomes more stoic and well-mannered like his father. He is eager to learn and grow in power from his mentors and father.

23 Goten

Goku And Chi-Chi's Second Son

Son of Goku and brother of Gohan, Goten is a powerful half-Saiyan who loves living wild and free. He shares the same mischievous and adventurous personality as his father when he was a child, but he has a better head on his shoulders due to his mother's guidance.

He and his best friend Trunks have the ability to fuse together using the Fusion Dance to become Gotenks, an insanely strong Saiyan entity.

22 Gohan

Goku's Oldest Son, A Fighter With Limitless Potential

Gohan is the oldest son of Goku, making him a half-Saiyan. Though he is incredibly strong and has great control over his Saiyan abilities, he doesn't enjoy violence and prefers to study than fight.

Gohan grows up to become a scholar and falls in love with Videl. He is naturally smart, humble, kind, and protective over those he cares about. Gohan proved he was one of the strongest characters in Dragon Ball Z through his insane transformations and attacks.

21 Future Trunks

A Mature, Traumatized Trunks From a Desolate Future

Future Trunks is from an alternate dimension. He grew up in a very different, gruesome world where he grew cold-hearted, reserved, and well-mannered.

He travels back in time to change the future and faces many tough villains to achieve his goal. He is back in Dragon Ball Super to continue protecting those he cares about. Future Trunks is one of the most popular protagonists in the franchise.

20 Bulma

A Gifted Scientist

• Height: 5'5" (165 cm)
• Birthday: August 18th

Bulma is an intelligent human with a temperamental personality. She is tough, tomboyish, and won't back down from a challenge, but she can also show her feminine side.

Though she isn't as physically strong as the other characters, many of them still show fear towards her when she gets angry. Bulma loves her appearance, thinks very highly of herself, and can act quite snobby at times. She works hard as a mother and a scientist and is a super cool female character in the series.

19 Chi-Chi

Goku's Wife, A Former Martial Arts Expert

Chi Chi is one of the strongest human women in the entire world and is married to Goku. She is a very strict and protective mother over her two sons, and gets irritated when they break the rules.

Chi Chi was a big advocate of Gohan pursuing academics rather than fighting, as he had a natural talent for it and preferred not to fight. She loves her family and will do anything she can to keep them safe.

18 Videl

Gohan's Wife, And Mr. Satan's Daughter

• Height: 5'2" (157 cm)
• Birthday: March 14th

Videl was introduced during the Peaceful World saga and became one of the more important characters in the series in record time. Her romance with Gohan is pretty interesting to witness, with the Saiyan training her to fight and control her ki.

She married Gohan eventually and gave birth to Pan soon after. Her fighting days may be long behind her, but Videl is still an important character and makes a pretty cute painting with Gohan too.

17 Yamcha

A Fighter Relegated To A Joke Character

• Birthday: March 20th

Yamcha has been relegated to a joke character who keeps on losing fights, which is a shame given just how powerful he seemed early on. However, his lack of proper training led to this character becoming nothing more than a footnote.

Many people consider him to be the weakest member of the Z Warriors, as he wasn't even selected to fight in the Tournament of Power. That being said, he's still a lovable character, even if he's a bit of a wimp.

16 Krillin

Goku's Best Friend And Confidante

• Height: 5'1" (156 cm)
• Birthday: October 29th

Krillin is known as one of the most powerful and skilled martial artists in the entire world. He trained under Master Roshi alongside Goku, quickly changing from his rival to his lifelong best friend.

He is very brave, loyal, tough, and a bit jealous. It is said that he is a thousand times stronger than the average human being, though his non-human friends still tease him for being the weakest of the bunch.

15 Piccolo

An Antagonist Who Joins The Good Side

• Height: 7'5" (226 cm)
• Birthday: May 9th

This bone-crushing character is a Namekien and a part of the Dragon Clan, the original creators of the Dragon Balls. Piccolo was introduced in the franchise as an antagonist, out to defeat Goku.

However, in the events of Dragon Ball Z and Super, he is a companion to the Saiyans on Earth and fights alongside them in many battles. Still, he is typically always very stern, grumpy, and likes being alone. He never smiles and isn't the most friendly of people.

14 Tien

A Tournament Rival Who Joins Goku's Side After A Well-Fought Battle

• Height: 6'2" (187 cm)
• Birthday: Age 733

Out of all the Earthlings in the Z Warriors, Tien is perhaps the only one who can hold his own against tough opposition. His Tri-Beam is a technique so deadly that Tien himself can't fire off too many of these blasts before breathing his last.

Even in Dragon Ball Super, Tien holds his own and gets some episodes to shine when Goku and the gang try to recruit him for the Tournament of Power. He may channel his goofy side more often than not nowadays, but Tien knows when it's time to get serious.

13 Majin Buu

A Former Evil Being Who Becomes Good

• Height: 8'2" (250 cm)
• Birthday: May 8th

Majin Buu was initially introduced as a dastardly antagonist with no regard for human life. However, it turned out that he had the mind of a child and was slowly convinced by Mr. Satan to mend his ways.

While this led to the evil in his heart being expelled and taking on a villainous form of its own, Majin Buu still came back to become a hero in his own right. He may sleep too much and eat buckets of food, but that doesn't take away from how powerful he can be.

12 Master Roshi

Founder Of The Turtle School

• Height: 5'5" (165 cm)
• Birthday: March 20

Master Roshi is a master of martial arts and taught many of the main characters in the Dragon Team all they know about fighting. He is a hermit who has lived for over three hundred years due to his impressive health.

Master Roshi often acts immaturely and inappropriately. He may not be the most respected character, and he could definitely use a personality change, but he is undeniably a dangerous force to mess with.

11 Beerus

The Destroyer God Of Universe 7

• Birthday: Unknown

This menacing God of Destruction wants the total destruction of Earth and will fight anyone on the Dragon Team to make that happen. He desires to be respected as a god and has a very mean yet lazy personality.

Beerus is well-mannered and speaks very politely, as a higher being in power would. He is the toughest antagonist that Goku has had to face in Dragon Ball Super, making him a memorable and interesting villain.

10 Whis

An Angel Who Keeps Beerus In Check

• Height: 7'7" (230 cm)

Whis is an Angel that serves as Beerus' mentor, a reveal that surprised many viewers at the end of the Battle of the Gods arc. He's a charming character whose love for food never gets tiring to watch.

He's also one of the strongest beings in the show and the most powerful deity in Universe 7. It's easy to see why he has made such a strong and lasting impression, with his training of Goku and Vegeta allowing both Saiyans to heighten their powers to a level that is simply incredible.

9 Champa

Beerus' Twin, Destroyer God Of Universe 6

Universe 6 houses some of the more interesting characters in Super, and Champa is no exception here. Despite seeming like a lazy, chubbier reskin of Beerus, this character ends up being engaging in his own right.

His rivalry with his brother makes the interactions between the two Destroyer Gods a joy to watch. What makes this even more endearing is that, despite the hate they display for each other, it's clear that both siblings have a soft spot for each other under this hardened exterior.

8 Vados

Whis' Sister, Universe 6's Angel

Vados is the older sister of Whis. This observation is obvious when viewers take a good look at both Angels. Suffice it to say, she's the strongest entity in Universe 6 and keeps things in check in case the Destroyer God she's looking over goes out of control.

Not a lot is known about her character, although it goes without saying that she'd be just as calm-headed and powerful as the other angels. She's stated to be stronger than her brother, which is a rather interesting fact.

7 Broly

The Legendary Super Saiyan

• Birthday: Age 737

Broly is the first-ever Legendary Super Saiyan that was shown in the series, making a lasting impression despite being a non-canon character for the longest time. With his appearance in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, this character has finally become a part of the main Dragon Ball narrative.

This Saiyan's isolation caused him a lot of pain, making him fly into a rage whenever his emotions reached a peak. His fight against Gogeta is a thing of beauty and shows just how much power this character houses.
