The game has gone through some evolution, and it spotlights all eras of Dragon Ball--from the original series to Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, the movies, Xenoverse games, and, of course, the titular Dragon Ball Super series. This means players can have heroes and villains from all eras cooperating or fighting in the CCG realm. Some of these cards have become incredibly valuable as players try to get their hands on them and one inevitably become the most expensive Dragon Ball Super card.

Updated on September 7th, 2021 by Josh Davison: The trading card game and collectible card game scenes have been long dominated by three titans: Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh. While these are still the three top card games in the world, there are plenty of challengers who have made remarkable headway at dethroning the champs in recent years. Among these new contenders are Flesh and Blood, Force of Will, a new and quickly rising Digimon card game, and Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball has had several attempts at a card game, and Dragon Ball Super is looking to be the most successful and long-lived. It's still going strong, and Bandai is continuing to put out new cards that launch into the stratosphere in terms of collectibility and price. These cards become entrenched in a competition to become the most expensive Dragon Ball Super card.

15 Baby Hatchhyack, Saiyan Destroyer Is The Fusion No One Expected

Baby Hatchyyack Saiyan Destroyer DBS Card Cropped
  • Estimated Value: $265-304

This card is a bizarre fusion of Baby from Dragon Ball GT and Hatchhyack from the Dragon Ball: Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans movie. This card has the Ultimate ability, meaning only one copy of it can be played in a deck. Furthermore, this card can reduce its cost to discarding a single card from your hand instead of paying its monumental energy cost.

The power and rarity of its card has doubtlessly contributed to its high price tag. It runs for about $304 on TCGplayer but has sold for as low as $265 recently on eBay.

14 Beerus, Universe 7 Divine Vanquisher Is Worthy Of The God Of Destruction

Beerus Universe 7 Divine Vanquisher DBS Card Cropped
  • Estimated Value: $116-$351

This is where it becomes important to talk about how Super Rare cards have multiple printings, and some of these alternate printings end up skyrocketing to prices vastly higher than the regular printings of the same card. This particular Beerus card is only this expensive due to it being a signature-stamped special rare variant of the card.

That said, this is still a strong Beerus card that can force one's opponent to discard potentially several cards from their hand. In any case, this one will run a collector at about $351 on TCGplayer and as low as $116 on eBay.

13 King Vegeta, The Majestic Ruler Is The Card For A Winner

King Vegeta the Majestic Ruler DBS Card Cropped
  • Estimated Value: About $362

This rendition of Vegeta's father, King Vegeta, comes from a tournament promotion and is stamped for the winner of a Dragon Ball Super tournament. This is what sets the card apart in terms of price, though its ability to negate the abilities of other Battle Cards isn't anything to shrug off.

There are other variations of this card, but this particular printing can run someone about $362 on TCGplayer and doesn't have any recent sales on eBay, though there are some currently active listings of wildly varying prices.

12 SS Son Goku & Frieza, Miraculous Conclusion Finds Unlikely Allies

SS Son Goku & Frieza Miraculous Conclusion DBS Card Cropped
  • Estimated Value: $365-405

This team-up of Goku and Frieza comes from the Cross Spirits. It's a high-costing card at eight, but it reduces its own cost if a player is playing only Red energy. Plus, it's hard to deny that it's pretty cool to play a card featuring Goku and Frieza teaming up to beatdown an opponent.

This powerhouse team-up can run a collector about $405 on TCGplayer but has dipped to about $365 on eBay.

11 Frieza, Emperor Of Universe 7 Showcases The Golden Warlord

Frieza Emperor of Universe 7 DBS Card Cropped
  • Estimated Value: $152-460

Frieza has had among the more curious character arcs in Dragon Ball, as he became an ally of Goku and the heroes of Earth--particularly during the Tournament of Power and Universal Survival Saga. Appropriately, this card came from the Tournament of Power set.

This Frieza is intended for Universe 7 themed decks and can be played more easily by discarding a Universe 7 Battle Card to come out. The signature foil version of this card can run about $460 on TCGplayer but has dipped as low as $152 on eBay.

10 Dependable Brother Son Gohan Is A Boon For Goku Family Decks

Dependable Brother Son Gohan DBS Card Cropped

Estimated Value: $300-474

This is among the more powerful Gohan cards in the game, and it can be played more easily if the player already has a Son Gohan with an Energy Cost of three on the field. It's made for an Alliance deck and generally combos well with Son Goten and young Trunks cards.

The signature variant of this card, however, is the reason this particular card is so expensive. It can run for about $474 on TCGplayer, but it has been sold for $300 on eBay.

9 Saiyan Cabba Is An Exclusive Card From An Origins Event

Saiyan Cabba DBS Card Game
  • Estimated Value: About $500

Saiyan Cabba, the warrior from Universe 6, forms a bond with Vegeta of Universe 7. This card was printed in the first set, Galactic Battle, and is a pretty potent Battle Card for one red energy. However, it's not Saiyan Cabba's abilities that place this one on the list.

Specifically, it's the Origins event 2019 printing of Saiyan Cabba that has such a high price tag. Worse yet, there aren't actually any listings on TCGPlayer or eBay for this card currently, but its market price on TCGPlayer is $500.

DBS Card Game Trunks
  • Estimated Value: $250-589

The next entry on this list is the SS2 Trunks, Memories of the Past. This is a card that can strike back from the Energy Area of the field, which most cards cannot do.

SS2 Trunks, Memories of the Past is a Trunks card from the Assault of the Saiyans set and spotlights the Zamasu and Goku Black saga. It's blue and is intended to work well within a Vegito deck build. The signature version of this card can run players about $589 on TCGplayer but has dipped below $250 on eBay.

7 Son Goku / Ultra Instinct Son Goku, Limits Surpassed Is An Unstoppable Leader Card

Ultra Instinct Son Goku Limits Surpassed DBS Card Cropped
  • Estimated Value: About $600

The Dragon Ball Super game requires players to assemble their decks behind a leader card. While not all decks need to be synchronous with the leader card, it certainly helps if they support one another. However, some leader cards are powerful enough that it doesn't really matter if the deck directly supports it.

Ultra Instinct Son Goku, Limits Surpassed falls into the latter category. It makes use of the powerful Surge ability to transform into its more powerful form earlier than most leaders can in a game. While this card isn't that expensive usually, the prerelease stamped foil for the Universal Onslaught set has a market price of $600 on TCGplayer, but it's trending upwards quickly on that marketplace. However, it has sold recently for less than $600 on eBay.

6 Universe 7 Saiyan Prince Vegeta Is A Signature Variant Of A Powerful Vegeta

Universe 7 Saiyan Prince Vegeta DBS Card Game
  • Estimated Value: $315-753

This Vegeta is a signature printing of the Universe 7 Saiyan Prince Vegeta from the Tournament of Power theme set. Dragon Ball Super theme sets are supplemental sets that focus on a specific group of characters or story arc, with this one coming from the Tournament of Power saga.

This Vegeta is a powerful finisher that switches all of a player's Battle Cards from Universe 6 and 7 to active mode, gives them a power boost, and Triple Strike. If the opponent survives this onslaught, it would be incredibly surprising. This Vegeta will run players $753 on TCGPlayer, but it has sold for as low as $315 on eBay.

5 Meteoric Energy SSB Vegito Is A Variant Of An Incredibly Potent Card

Vegito DBS Card Game
  • Estimated Value: $700-782

This is another Assault of the Saiyans card and goes into the same kind of Vegito build as the Trunks higher up on this list. Players can fuse their Vegeta and Goku into this Vegito, and it uses cards in their Energy Area to boost itself up and can render all of the opponent's Battle Cards and energy inactive for the next turn. If players have that SS2 Trunks, it comes into play after being comboed from the Energy Are with this Vegito.

The signature version of this card runs pretty high, selling for at least $782 on TCGPlayer but dipping below $700 on eBay.

4 Broly, Ultimate Agent Of Destruction Is The Most Powerful Broly Yet

Broly DBS Card Game
  • Estimated Value: $500-835

This Broly comes to us from the Destroyer Kings set and also has the Ultimate ability, meaning players can only use one of these in their Dragon Ball Super deck. That makes sense, given that it has Double Strike, Dual Attack, and can be played for no energy if one of a player's Battle Cards with an energy cost of seven is KO'd.

This Broly also has the Majin M on its forehead, making this a noncanonical version of Broly. Despite being an original concept for the card game, it's still not the most expensive Dragon Ball Super card. Regardless, it's an insane powerhouse of a card that runs for $835 on TCGPlayer but has sold for under $500 on eBay.

3 Son Goku, Hope Of Universe 7 Is A Signature Variant Of Ultra Instinct Goku

Son Goku Hope of Universe 7 DBS Card Game
  • Estimated Value: $610-966

This Son Goku is intended to be un in a Universe 7 themed deck. Most Universe 7 Leader Cards in Dragon Ball Super make it so that they can use any color of Battle Card so long as they have the Universe 7 trait, though this Goku wants to be used with a green Leader Card.

It's a powerful bruiser with 35000 power and Triple Attack. This signature version of Son Goku, Hope of Universe 7 comes from the Tournament of Power theme set and runs players $966 on TCGPlayer but has sold for as low as $610 on eBay.

2 Son Goku & Vegeta, Apex Of Power Is A Destructive Team-Up Of Goku And Vegeta

Son Goku & Vegeta DBS Card Game
  • Estimated Value: $650-1,406

This is another Ultimate card, this time coming from the Universal Onslaught set. It's a team-up of Goku and Vegeta set during the Universal Survival saga. It has a whopping 45000 power and can be played at half of its cost if players have five or more red and blue multicolored cards in their Drop Area.

It also has the ability Victory Strike, which means players automatically win the game if Son Goku & Vegeta, Apex of Power ever successfully deals damage to their opponent's Leader Card. This one runs for about $1,406 on TCGPlayer and has sold for as low as $650 on eBay. And yet, this is still not the most expensive Dragon Ball Super card.

1 Son Goku, The Awakened Power May Be The Best Card In The Game

Son Goku Awakened Power DBS Card Game
  • Estimated Value: $1,077-2,981

This is the rarest and most expensive Dragon Ball Super card on the market today. It's the Son Goku, The Awakened Power card from the Tournament of Power theme set. It's not a signature card either. This only has one printed version, but it's also hands-down the best card in the game.

It can evolve from a Son Goku with the Universe 7 trait for one energy and a Universe 7 card being placed from a player's hand to the Drop Area. Its attack and ability can't be negated, and it has Victory Strike. It has 45000 power, can't be stopped, and can instakill a player. Thankfully, this one is an Ultimate too, so opponents will only have one in their deck if any. This one runs for $2,981 on TCGPlayer but has sold for as low as $1,077 on eBay.
