Several months ago, Dragon Ball FighterZ producer Tomoko Hiroki explained a Nintendo Switch version of the title is possible if enough fans buy the Switch port of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Apparently, this particular requirement has been fulfilled, as Bandai Namco has now announced that the Arc System Works-developed game will be available on the Big N's hybrid mobile console port at some point in 2018.

As seen in the trailer below, fans can see what it would look like if Dragon Ball FighterZ were being played on the handheld version of the Switch, as there are multiple instances of cinematics and gameplay snippets shown. According to Bandai Namco, "on top of being playable on-the-go" the Switch version of the game will be able to boast its own unique bit of "exclusive features."

As evidenced by the content provided by the above footage, it's too early to tell if Dragon Ball FighterZ on Switch will allow fans to access the fighting game's DLC when it launches for the console. So far, Broly, Bardock, Vegito, and Zamasu have been released as playable characters, for DB FighterZ on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but none of the aforementioned roster members show up in the Switch trailer.

So, taking everything into consideration, there's no doubt that Nintendo newcomers and existing Dragon Ball FighterZ fans who want to double dip with a purchase of the game on Switch are excited it's coming to the console. Of course, there's still the question of how well it will play on the system and what kind of additional features will make it a day one buy. While we will likely learn this in the coming weeks, with the game still not having a solid release set yet, there are likely even more details that could be announced first.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and will come out at some point in 2018 for Nintendo Switch.
