This weekend marks the finals of Dragon Ball FighterZ last Season 2 tournament, the World Tour Finals. It's a major event for Dragon Ball FighterZ, which is why Bandai Namco is going above and beyond to make it feel special. Yesterday, Bandai Namco revealed its plans for Season 3 in 2020 and 2021. These plans include the addition of the Z Assist Feature, which will completely change the game. Today, Bandai Namco has a gameplay-focused trailer showing off Season 3's known DLC characters.

Ultra Instinct Goku, Season 3's second DLC character, gets the main focus of the new Dragon Ball FighterZ trailer. The hype trailer teases all of the other Goku fighters in Dragon Ball FighterZ before stating "Ultra Instinct Awakens." Some of Ultra Instinct Goku's gameplay is then teased in a fight against Jiren. The Ultra Instinct Goku portion of the trailer then ends, promising his release in "Spring 2020."

The next part of the trailer is dedicated to Dragon Ball FighterZ next DLC character, launching ahead of Ultra Instinct Goku. Kefla is a fusion between the two Saiyan warriors Caulifla and Kale. Both women come from Universe 6 and take part in Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power. There's then a lengthy gameplay clip of Kefla fighting against Super Saiyan Blue Goku. Kefla's then confirmed to launch on February 28. She's just a few weeks away from launching.

Kefla and Ultra Instinct Goku are the only two characters featured in the new Dragon Ball FighterZ trailer. All the final moments of the trailer show is that there are three more DLC characters remaining as part of the Season 3 Fighter Pass. The remaining DLC fighters are a mystery for the time being. Dragon Ball  FighterZ players will likely find out more about the other new characters once Ultra Instinct Goku is out. E3 2020 or EVO 2020 are both likely to have some news about the fighting game.

It's odd to consider that Dragon Ball FighterZ is now over two years old. The game was released in January 2018 to widespread acclaim. Since then, it's remained a very popular game in the competitive scene and is already confirmed as a featured game for EVO 2020.

Season 3 of Dragon Ball FighterZ is looking to be just as exciting as the two prior. With the addition of the Z Assist Feature, which gives every character three assist abilities, the meta will be rewritten overnight. Players will be able to pick from a much more diverse range of fighters for their team. Plus, the comeback feature that's planned should make competitive matches all the more dramatic.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
