With the release of DBS Broly, Dragon Ball FighterZ officially finished its Season 2 run, leaving fans wondering what exactly happens next for the game. Well, a new datamine strongly suggests that Arc System Works and Bandai Namco are gearing up for the release of a Season 3.

The new information comes from datamines performed on the game when DBS Broly officially released. There have been other hints at upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 3 content through datamines done on the Janemba and Gogeta updates, but none of them have been quite as conclusive as this.

When pooled together, the latest information reveals animations for a brand new Dramatic Finish, one that plays out between Goku, Freeza, and Jiren. For those few who don’t know, at the end of the Dragon Ball Super anime, Goku and Freeza work together to defeat Jiren in the Tournament of Power, rushing him down with the last of their combined energy to push him out of the arena. This animation plays out similarly and only misses the accuracy mark due to being incomplete.

Miners revealed that there's more to the Dramatic Finish than the video showcases. However, the video does play out the most significant bits that miners were able to piece together. One of the things supposedly missing from the Finish is the moment Goku and Jiren shake hands as a sign of mutual respect. Because the Finish is incomplete, whether or not Android 17 makes an appearance remains to be seen, as he did play a small part in Goku and Freeza’s final assault on Jiren. As it stands now, however, this Dramatic Finish already marks the first time two characters will be needed to pull it off, so 17 might be left out just for the sake of keeping it as accessible as possible. Players would rarely ever bother going for the Finish if they had to build an entire team around it.

The video shows the Finish taking place on Namek (Destroyed), but fans shouldn't worry about that being the case when it becomes official. The stage serves as a placeholder to show the Dramatic Finish off since Goku and Freeza working together to force Jiren into a lake of lava doesn’t quite convey the same message as working to push him off of an arena. In fact, the Finish strongly hints at the future inclusion of the Tournament of Power Arena as a stage as that's the only sensible location where it can take place.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
