While its launch has been a great success, Dragon Ball FighterZ is ready to move into its post-launch phase of development. Last week saw the announcement of the fighting game's first two DLC characters, Broly and Bardock, but today brought a new reveal. Bandai Namco has introduced the patch roadmap for Dragon Ball FighterZ, which heavily prioritizes current online multiplayer issues.

The "Roadmap for Patches" video released today features Bandai Namco producer Tomoko Hiroki being open regarding Dragon Ball FighterZ's launch issues. Matchmaking issues tied to the "Ring Match" game mode and sporadic disconnects from lobbies are two issues in particular that are mentioned. It's these issues that will be the priority for Bandai Namco's upcoming patches.

Two patches are currently in the works to address Dragon Ball FighterZ's ongoing connection issues. The first is tentatively planned for late February, but Hiroki is quick to note that this patch is unlikely to solve all issues. Thus, a second patch focusing on connectivity issues is also in the works and will be released in mid or late March. Bandai Namco, "will not stop until the fix has been completed," according to Hiroki.

The entirety of this initial Dragon Ball FighterZ "Patch Roadmap" video is dedicated to the plans to fix issues with online multiplayer. But Tomoko Hiroki also makes sure to mention that more is planned for the game after these issues have been solved. That likely means additional patch roadmap videos will follow after February and March, where issues including balance and new content will be addressed.

For the time being, players will simply have to wait until Bandai Namco has further information to share regarding upcoming patches and updates. The February patch is likely to hit early next week, but the following patch could take some time. In the meantime, Bandai should offer new information regarding the upcoming release of DLC characters Broly and Bardock.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a young game and with its surprising success, some hiccups are to be expected. But judging from Bandai Namco's initial response to those issues, the game has a bright future and plenty for fans to look forward to.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
