It won't be long now before gamers are taking on some of their favorite Dragon Ball characters in a brand new 2.5D fight title. The game in question, Dragon Ball FighterZ, is set to arrive in February 2018, and publisher Bandai Namco has begun ramping up its release of roster updates for the project in order to start building excitement. Fans previously saw confirmation that heroes Yamcha and Tien will join FighterZ, but now a couple of baddies have been confirmed to, presumably, tilt the scales a little bit.

None other than Nappa and Captain Ginyu will be joining the fray according to Japanese gaming and manga magazine V-Jump. Scans from the magazine show the villainous fighters utilizing their trademark techniques from the source material in which they originate, and much like previous characters, their inclusion looks to be implemented into the game in a rather painstakingly accurate manner.

Those hoping to catch a glimpse of the newest Dragon Ball FighterZ additions can do so below:

Not content on simply revealing Captian Ginyu and Nappa, V-Jump also confirmed that fans residing in Japan can expect to see Dragon Ball FighterZ arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 1, 2017. This is the first official release date revealed for the game so far, but it fails to specify whether or not this also reflects a global release. Still, it hopefully provides a rough idea of when to expect the title if nothing else.

With developer Arc System Works taking some creative liberties with an entirely new narrative for the game, it's clear that the studio is working hard to provide fight aficionados with the experience they're craving. Still, there are a handful of obscure characters fans would to see in Dragon Ball FighterZ that have yet to surface, and with time running out, Dragon Ball fans may have to begin petitioning for their inclusion as DLC.

Dragon Ball FighterZ arrives for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 1, 2018 in Japan. A release date for other regions is still TBD.
