With the recent inclusion of Bardock and Broly in Dragon Ball FighterZ, many fans may be looking forward to the next DLC character. Considering the 2.5D fighting game has a vast pool to pull from, it could be almost anyone, but recent rumors suggest that the next character to appear in the game will be Merged Zamasu.

An official announcement is expected sometime this week from Japanese magazine V Jump, which focuses on manga-related video games. Early leaks from this magazine anticipate the release of Merged Zamasu as the next Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC character, and the rumors have gained traction on both Japanese and English social media.

For those unaware, Merged Zamasu is a powerful fusion between Goku Black and Future Zamasu through the Potara earrings, and the character is extremely powerful, as he is capable of facing Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, and Trunks all at once. If it proves to be true that he is the next DLC character, he’ll probably an interesting introduction into the metagame, with his abilities possibly ranging from his unstable mutations to his defensive wall of light.

It is also worth noting that, with Zamasu as the next DLC character, a recent datamine will have accurately predicted the first three DLC characters. If the trend continues, then gamers could expect Vegito, Cooler, and Ranger Android 17 to follow Zamasu as additions to Dragon Ball FigherZ’s fighting roster. While information like this is always best taken with a grain of salt, it does seem likely that this leak is accurate, and it shouldn’t take long before some official confirmation is revealed.

Considering that Dragon Ball FighterZ is the most popular game for EVO 2018 participants, with the highest recorded number of EVO registrants for this year’s upcoming competition, it’ll be interesting to see how DLC characters affect the tournament. Many competitors may be using Bardock, Broly, or possibly even Zamasu, especially if he’s as powerful as his anime counterpart.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
