Fighting game fans have understandably been excited for the forthcoming release of Dragon Ball FighterZ ever since the video game developer Arc System Works and publisher Bandai Namco unveiled the first piece of gameplay footage at E3 2017. Now, they have even more reason to anticipate the title's release, as the aforementioned companies have confirmed the addition of the characters Krillin and Piccolo to the game's roster.

Arc System Works and Bandai Namco revealed as much in the latest issue of V-Jump Magazine, as the developer and publisher announced Krillin and Piccolo's inclusion in Dragon Ball FighterZ while also revealing further details. For instance, the companies assured fans that they will be able to utilize Krillin's Destructo Disc ability by holding down a button to make the unblockable move more powerful upon release.

In addition to the news of Krillin and Piccolo coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, Arc System Works and Bandai Namco revealed that players will also be able to control chibi characters in the game's online mode, which is similar to the online system in the Guilty Gear Xrd series. Furthermore, this online mode in the forthcoming fighting game will also let players battle against each other as chibi characters as well.

Aside from Krillin and Piccolo, the confirmed characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ so far are Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Cell, Frieza, Majin Buu, and franchise-favorite Trunks. Considering the fact that Arc System Works has shown off gameplay of all the fighters officially unveiled, we will likely see video featuring the likes of Krillin and Piccolo in due time. Plus, it's safe to presume that the developer is far from finished adding characters, especially when one takes into account the sheer size of the Dragon Ball Z Universe.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in early 2018.
