Following the recent gameplay footage debut of Arc System Works’ forthcoming fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ, Bandai Namco Entertainment has decided to release even more action for fans to enjoy with a brand new trailer featuring huge combos and heated 3v3 action. The video continues the battle between Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta and their enemies Cell, Majin Buu, and Frieza.
As seen below in the latest trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ, there are a lot more energy attacks on display alongside the combos to show how much damage and destruction players can inflict if they chain their moves together fluidly. As previously mentioned, the game is 3v3, but instead of there being six characters on-screen in a whirling chaos, players can tap their characters in and out of battle just like one can in the Marvel vs. Capcom titles.
Not only can Dragon Ball FighterZ players swap out characters on the fly, but also they can have the fighters work together for a coordinated attack. For instance, the gameplay video above highlights a tandem Kamehameha energy attack with Super Saiyan Goku and Gohan. The super moves seem to work on an individual level as well, for Vegeta performs an energy attack that is potent enough to warrant its own cutscene with its blast filling up the whole screen.
Speaking of such eye-popping 2.5D visuals and combat, it should come as no surprise to Dragon Ball FighterZ fans that the studio behind the game also handled the Guilty Gear franchise, which is well-known for unique and highly stylized animations and over-the-top gameplay. Considering the learning curve that tends to occur with titles in the GG series, it will be interesting to see how difficult the move sets are to execute in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
