It is no secret that most Dragon Ball fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the upcoming action RPG game, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which will focus on the story and characters of the beloved anime franchise. Now, while waiting for the launch of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which still has no definitive release date, Bandai Namco is offering Dragon Ball FighterZ for free for a limited time only.

The popular fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ will be free-to-play on Steam for a limited time only, allowing players to enjoy 3v3 tag by selecting characters from the game's roster of Dragon Ball characters. The developer also revealed that the full version of Dragon Ball FighterZ is 75% off on Steam starting today, up until August 5, 2019.

The weekend sale would be the perfect time for players who are curious to try the fighting game but are still hesitant due to price constraints. It is worth remembering that while Bandai Namco did not specify when Dragon Ball FighterZ's free-to-play status would end, it probably won't be available for too long.

A couple of days ago, Nintendo UK accidentally leaked that Janemba is the next upcoming DLC character for Dragon Ball FighterZ. This is not the first time Janemba's name surfaced in leaks, but it appears that Nintendo UK unintentionally revealed too much information about the character on its website, but was quickly removed afterward. The leaks reported that Janemba will come in 5 alternate colors together with a Lobby Avatar, and a Z stamp.

Currently, there is still no clear information as to when Janemba will be officially revealed. However, one possible venue will be this year's EVO fighting game tournament, which takes place August 2-4. While Dragon Ball FighterZ won't be headlining, it will still be present at the event, which may serve as the perfect venue to announce the game's next DLC character if the rumors are to be believed.

As for the development of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, fans would be happy to hear that the upcoming game would not only have Goku as the only playable character. Several weeks ago, Bandai Namco confirmed that Piccolo, Vegeta, and Gohan would all be playable in the upcoming game alongside Goku. The developer also teased that an original plot will further flesh out the origin stories of the game's other playable characters.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One
