As we draw nearer to the game's release, Bandai Namco Entertainment has released trailers focusing on specific characters in the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ. Popular characters like Piccolo and the evil alien Frieza have received their own trailers already, and now the ultra-powerful villain Cell has received one as well.

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, Cell looks and acts just as fans might expect. He has access to his standard suite of moves that are on display in the show, and is shown to be a rather formidable fighter. While Cell appears to be represented well in Dragon Ball FighterZ, though, it's unclear if a key component of his character will translate to the upcoming fighting game.

One of Cell's defining qualities in the anime and manga is his transformation from his Imperfect form to his Perfect form. In the new Dragon Ball FighterZ trailer released by Bandai Namco, all we see in action is Cell's Perfect form. Perhaps Cell's other forms will still be featured in the game in some capacity, but for now, all fans can count on for sure is the appearance of Perfect Cell.

Besides revealing new footage of Cell, the trailer also confirms that the Cell Games arena will be in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The Cell Games arena has been featured in many Dragon Ball Z fighting games over the years, so its inclusion here is no surprise. With both Cell and the Cell Games arena included in the game, fans should be able to recreate some of the franchise's most memorable battles, like the climactic showdown between Gohan and Cell, for example.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how large of a role Cell plays in Dragon Ball FighterZ. After all, the game's plot revolves around the Androids, who also played major roles in the Cell Games story arc. Considering this, it wouldn't be surprising to see the baddie featured as an important character in the impending narrative.

Of course, there's still a lot we don't know about Dragon Ball FighterZ's story mode, and chances are much of it will remain under wraps until the game's launch early next year. Until then, all fans can do is speculate about Cell's appearance in the game, and what other Dragon Ball characters will be joining him on the roster.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will launch in February of 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
