Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the hottest fighting games on the market right now and to ever exist. It features over 40 unique characters, tons of music, and countless variations for players to express themselves through their own play style. One thing the game is missing, however, is a stage list that feels satisfactory to Dragon Ball fans.

In the Dragon Ball franchise, stages were a staple that made the games what they were. There were so many unique arenas to battle friends in and they helped set the stage for epic fights reminiscent of the ones in the show. Fans have created mods for Dragon Ball Fighterz to replicate that old feel from the games in the franchise before it.

Tournament Of Power

Goku vs Jiren at the Tournament of Power
How FighterZ doesn't feature a Tournament Of Power stage is beyond every fan of the series. The Tournament Of Power is the last arc of the anime that came out before FighterZ, and also where a lot of characters were introduced. Characters like Kefla, UI Goku, and Jiren were all DLC characters, that weren't in the show until the Tournament Of Power as well. As a mod, this stage includes the iconic pillars and spectator areas for the residents of the other universes watching the match. The stage has an interesting color palette too, bringing a fresh atmosphere to the game.

Hyperbolic Time Chamber

Training in the time chamber
Another iconic inclusion that somehow didn't make it in, the hyperbolic time chamber would've been a perfect training stage and beautiful battle arena. In Dragon Ball games before FighterZ, the tutorial would almost always take place in the time chamber since that's where Goku and Gohan would train in the show.
Since FighterZ appeals to so many hardcore fighting game fans, the inclusion of this stage and its music would've been a great addition since they spend so much time in training mode. This mod also has colors not featured in any other stage, so it would be especially welcome.

Kame House

Goku vs Krillin at the Kame house
The Kame House is the home of Master Roshi, and one of the very first places where Goku trained after arriving on Earth and leaving Grandpa Gohan's house. The Kame House is featured in Fighterz as a portal to the party match menu, which is a nice choice, but it would make a better stage. The game already has an "islands" stage that transitions to other levels but this would make for an even smoother transition and have a background with less visual noise.

Snake Way

Goku and Beerus at Snake Way
For fans of the Dragon Ball Z anime, Snake Way is a classic backdrop that should make its way into Fighterz. The stage features the road Goku had to run on for miles in order to traverse around the afterlife, running into side adventures at every turn.

This mod features the road itself as the part where characters stand as well as part of the background. The road winds around the sky while characters fight it out on one straight stretch, flying around violently.

Android 21's Underground Lab

Android 21's Lab
During the story mode of FighterZ, players visit Android 21's underground base multiple times, but never get to actually have a fight there. Modders have turned the assets from the game into a stage by overlapping the elements of her lab, on top of the elements for the Cavern stage. They did more than just copy and paste the stage together. There are unique lighting and cave textures as well to make the stage feel truly unique compared to others already in the game.

Hell, Or HFIL (Home For Infinite Losers)

Since the addition of Janemba and Gogeta, players have wondered when the stage for their epic battle was coming. This arena, Hell, from the anime, features crazy background visuals with a dark atmosphere that still feels playful in a way.
The creator of this mod did a fantastic job of recreating that atmosphere while not making it too distracting during a fight. The stage has colors and effects similar to Land Of The Kais, but with a differently colored sky, and instead of a waterfall, there's a pillar of a jelly bean-like substance.

Spooky Destroyed City

Destroyed City With Spooky colors
In the spooky season after Dragon Ball FighterZ's release in 2018, the developers released Halloween colors for the base characters and DLC that was out at the time. These colors are an assortment of oranges, purples, and greens that reflect the season and character's color palettes at the same time. This mod is basically a version of a normal stage in DBFZ with its color palette switched to meet that of the Halloween variations of characters. Changing stages slightly can add to the atmosphere of a fighting game and just keep things fresh for long-time players.

The Glacier Stage

Gogeta vs Broly in the Glacier stage
The Glacier stage has made its appearance in Dragon Ball games before but was especially missed in FighterZ. When Dragon Ball Super Broly was announced, a lot of fans thought this stage was coming since it's where Broly fights Vegeta and Goku before they transform into Gogeta.
This mod is incredibly unique and gives the same feeling it did in the movie. It feels like a completely isolated and empty space where the effects of the battle wouldn't affect anyone else but the combatants. The white snow and ice make each character's animations feel extra crisp, and the contrast with the bright blue sky makes aerial battles feel all the more epic.

Budokai Music Pack

Dragon Ball FighterZ features dozens of songs to play during battles including character themes, stage themes, and even songs from older games like the Budoten series. One franchise that has a lot of missing songs is the Budokai series. The Budokai games are some of the most loved games by fans from the PS2 era that have some of the most recognizable songs in Dragon Ball history. This mod allows players to choose what songs they want to play on what stage and when. It's very convenient and definitely a necessary mod for players who want to relive the old Budokai days while playing the latest Dragon Ball fighting game.

Persona 4 Arena

Persona 4 Arena was developed by Arc System Works, the same developers who worked on Dragon Ball FighterZ. They specialize in creating fighting games that capture the essence of anime very well. This mod allows players to visit stages from Persona, as well as a variety of music from other fighting games made by Arc System Works. Taking Goku to the Shadow World of Persona 4 seems like a fever dream of a crossover episode, but the music and atmosphere all work pretty well together.
