One of the most popular anime fighting games currently available is Dragon Ball FighterZ. This is a traditional 3-on-3 fighting game in collaboration with Arc System Works and Bandai Namco, based on the enduringly relevant Dragon Ball IP. This game in particular has seen impressive post-launch support and milestones, with Dragon Ball FighterZ managing to reach over 8 million copies sold as of this year. It seemed like FighterZ would no longer be adding DLC after the last season, but Bandai Namco and Arc System Works seems to be adding at least one more to the roster.

Dragon Ball FighterZ has seen three seasons of DLC fighters ever since it launched. This includes DLC of fan-favorite characters like Bardock, Cooler, Broly, and Vegito, to unexpected but welcome additions such as Master Roshi, Videl, and Super Baby 2. The third season of DLC was wrapped up earlier this year, with the addition of another fan-favorite, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. It was speculated that no more fighters would be added after him, but in a surprising twist, Bandai Namco announced another DLC Character coming soon, Android 21.

Android 21 is already a part of the base roster of FighterZ, where not only is she the main antagonist, but also a playable character upon completing the game's story mode. The current playable version of Android 21 is in her transformed Majin Form, where she has a bunch of ki blast attacks, along with one that can turn her opponents into food. This latest addition to the game will be her in her human disguise before transforming, simply known as Android 21 (Lab Coat).

The teaser trailer uploaded by Bandai Namco is very short, only teasing her intro before battle, along with her character select portrait. Much like Android 21's appearances in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Kakarot, she appears to be focused on her research, evidenced by her opening quote. Her abilities have yet to be outlined, as well as how this form will differentiate from her Majin form that is a part of the base roster, with Bandai Namco promising more information to be coming soon.

With this alternate form of Android 21 being added to the roster of Dragon Ball FighterZ, it has gotten some fans speculating if her addition will be as a standalone character, or a part of a fourth season pass. Some fans hope that if the game is getting another season of DLC, more obscure or fan-favorites from either from the original, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, or Dragon Ball Super would be added to the game.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
