Almost half a decade after both the releases of Bandai Namco's Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, both games are still going strong. Since both games are based on an enduringly popular property, they have a long-life thanks to post-launch support. For example, Xenoverse 2 is still getting a bunch of new DLC, with the latest Legendary Pack DLC featuring major characters from Dragon Ball Super such as Full Power Jiren, Gogeta, Kale, and Caulifla.

In terms of post-launch support for Dragon Ball FighterZ, there have been three seasons of DLC in the past few years. It launched the last DLC Fighter for its Season 3 Pass, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, earlier this year. Both FighterZ and Xenoverse 2 have been brought onto multiple formats, including the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and even the Nintendo Switch. With these games being on many consoles and being based on the popular anime property, it has seen healthy sales numbers. With these factors, both FighterZ and Xenoverse 2 have crossed an impressive sales milestone.

This milestone celebration was announced on Twitter, saying that both games have crossed 8 million units sold worldwide. Each one have different approaches to being a Dragon Ball game, with FighterZ being a 2.5D fighter that is more of a traditional fighting game that Arc System Works have developed, while Xenoverse 2 is a 3D arena fighter with RPG elements. Even with the different audiences that they appeal to, it shows how much fans love Dragon Ball.

To celebrate both games reaching this incredible milestone, Bandai Namco announced that there will be some commemorative in-game campaign events taking place. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will have a Raid Boss Battle with Full Power Jiren, that will be running from November 12 to 18. Meanwhile, over the course of November, certain Dragon Ball FighterZ's DLC characters will be free to play during a specific period of time. This event will run from November 12 to December 7, switching between which characters are free every Sunday.

Both Dragon Ball games reaching this milestone while having different appeals and audiences is a testament to how much love is given to the property. Bandai Namco seems to be keeping both of these games going for another few years, as evidenced by the support given. Whatever comes next, there's no doubt that more Dragon Ball content will be made for fans.

Dragon Ball FighterZ and Xenoverse 2 are available on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
